With the exception of the service. this place was terrible. I ordered the fish and chipsand itcame asovercooked frozen fish sticks from a grocery store with homemade tarter sauce that was mostly mayo and coleslaw that was just sliced cabbagein vinegar. The fries and gravy were good. My friend ordered the taco salad and it came with no dressing, just a spoonful each of salsa and sour cream. My friend had to request more salsa and the salad was still too dry to stomach. She also said the cheese was really poor quality and tasted terrible.

Not your typical hotel breakfast or beverage room. Spent a few nights at this hotel for business. It is located dead centre in Winnipeg, so there’s lots to do. I did get a change to have 3 breakfasts (all really good!) and some evening beverages in the caf and bar area. Very nice place. Appearance wise it’s very comfortable. Food was very good every time, however different every time. I guess that’s what you get with non-chain restaurants! My only negative comment was the size of the poutine for $8 and Nachos with chicken for $16, a tad too expensive! Otherwise, I was quite happy with the food, value (except for the 2 items) and the service was really good! Bartenders were fun!
Very good. Visited this restaurant over new years. Stayed in the hotel, so I enjoyed the breakfast buffet and enjoyed watching a little kar-e-oke. This restaurant or caf as they call it has very good staff, prompt, customer focused employees. The food was very nice every time. Home made pea soup was fantastic and the appetizer trio was very delicious!
Simple Cafe food, servers who care.. Simple typical caf style menu, very good portions, well priced, modern dcor.I think I was asked 3 times how my food was, the server, the manager and another supervisor! They really took the time to make sure I was happy! Loved it! See you again soon Bella!
Decent Option. This place is located in the Best Western Charterhouse hotel downtown. The lounge was the Barristers Lounge for years and then became Vibe and now it is Caf Bella. The dcor is very nice. They have really modernized the look. It used to look like your average Holiday Inn restaurant. They have a nice assortment of tables and booth. The front area is the caf and the lounge is separated by a short wall. The lounge area has a couple of big screen televisions. The staff was very friendly and my server was very quick refilling my water glass. They have buffets for breakfast and lunch. The lunch buffet costs $14. There are not many items. Each day has a theme. Whatever the theme, roast beef is always available. Pasta Monday, Chicken Tuesday, Pork Wednesday, Ukrainian Thursday and a changing theme on Friday. I went on a Wednesday and tried the buffet. The pork theme included a ham based soup, steamed mixed vegetables, pork chops and sweet and sour pork. Other items were salads, rice pilaf, rolls and a jello for dessert. The salads were fresh with crispy vegetables. The pork chops were tender and the roast beef was pretty average. I didn’t care for the sweet and sour pork. There was far too much soggy breading surrounding too small of a piece of pork for my liking. There is also a standard menu for those that don’t want to partake of the buffet. This menu features the usual items like sandwiches and burgers. My buddy tried the steak sandwich and thought that overall it was decent. The steak sandwich was $14. Overall, I thought that it represents a good value. In my opinion, Winnipeg lacks a fantastic buffet restaurant and the best of what we do have tend to be Asian restaurants. None of the items I tried were the best I have had, but they were (with the exception of the sweet and sour pork) good. I would try this place again.
