We were recently in for lunch on a Friday afternoon and sat in the bar. I was surprised how dead the restaurant was, but our food came out very fast as it was not busy. We both had a strawberry margarita and the enchiladas filled with spicy ground beef. They were good and came with rice, refried beans, a tortilla chip, shredded lettuce and tomato and had cheese melted over them and a sauce. I was disappointed that it wasn’t the traditional red sauce that is commonly served with enchiladas and it was a drier, brown sauce. We also wished they included some salsa or guacamole with the enchiladas and complimentary chips and dip. Overall, the food wasn’t bad and the service was satisfactory. The restaurant has a unique, rustic Mexican vibe to it and I would be interested in coming back to try different menu items.
Super disappointed after craving enchiladas forever. Red sauce was something I was looking forward to and wow did it ever lack excitement. The refried beans were ok, rice was dry. Would not order this again. My friend and I ordered a strawberry margarita as well and it wasn’t good either. Not very frozen like we had inquired about and tasted like juice. Would not return for anything except nachos.
We had a decent experience at Carlos & Murphy’s. Our server was quite uninformed on the beer options but, did her best. Our nachos were very good and I would definitely have them again. The margarita was also quite delicious and well-blended. Our entrees were large and fresh. It is a good spot on Osbourne Street for drinks and food.
Have been going here for years to eat Nachos and enjoy every variety they offer. We noticed that they also include sour cream now, which has always been a must have. Their chips were better a few years ago, but it’s still some of the best Nachos we’ve had in the city. We’ve only tried their other dishes a couple of times and found them to be unremarkable. Service is usually quite good but I wouldn’t go on a weekend.Surely if you are in the mood for nachos and near the village, give them a try.
Not a bad place if you want to go for nachos and beers with some friends. The rest of the food is horrendous though. Went for a double date with our friends. The food I swear was a week old in a cooler, slopped on the plate, cold, bitter, and over-salted without any other seasonings. I had two bites and couldn’t eat it, truly disgusting. I told the waitress that there was something really off about the dish and I couldn’t eat it. She did absolutely nothing, didn’t offer to replace it or order something else and left it sitting in front of me for the rest of the night. So I had to sit there and drink my wine as my dinner as I watched the rest of my dinner party just pick at their food as they too were not enjoying their meals. To make things worse the waitress asked if I wanted my meal packed up and I declined and said it wasn’t worth taking home. We weren’t offered a change in food, a discount or even take it off the bill, and to top it off I ended up with food poisoning and had to go home to spend the night in my bathroom instead of the plans we had after dinner. Will never return and will never ever recommend this place!
We came on a Monday to sit on the patio which is nicely shaded and not facing the street. The food was excellent and the service was petty good.
Ive been going here since I was kid, seriously has never changed in all the years but sadly today, went for an early dinner while hanging out in Osborne with my sister, stopped in for some food and I have been on the toilet all night long and all I had was taco chips with salsa and a taco salad which I have had many many times and has never upset my stomach like this before. I love this place but seriously something was off and the only other thing I ate today was toast and an egg, so I know it wasnt that. This turns me off so bad.
