A pleasant experience! I’ve had this place on my list for a while and I happened to be in the area so I had to try! I went right at opening (11 am) to avoid any kind of lunch rush, and was successful. First off, the menu is different. Simple, unique and interesting items to choose from and probably won’t find at most places. Multiple appetizers caught my eye so I had to do a couple of those to taste multiple things. First up was the Crispy Pork Belly: confit tomatoes, basil oil, soffrito style onions and reduced balsamic. Whenever I see pork belly on a menu I usually get it, and I can honestly say this place actually knows how to cook it perfectly, for sure best pork belly I’ve tasted in Winnipeg. They are not kidding when they say crispy! Both top and bottom were deliciously crispy and the flavourful pork belly wasn’t tampered with so you can really taste the natural rich flavours it had. The confit tomatoes added a little freshness to every bite, and the lightly drizzled balsamic really brought this dish together. Everything about this dish worked, I was very happy with it! Second I had the Moroccan lamb tacos: pomegranate yogurt, mint, cilantro and pickled beets. This dish was for sure interesting, but I wasn’t too crazy about it. The pickled beets added a little something to the dish, but for some reason I was craving a sweetness like a bit of pineapple or something for the tacos… the tortilla looked and felt like they were made in house which was nice. They were the right thickness to help everything in, and had a presence in every bite as well. Glad I tried it, but I wasn’t too crazy about it. Third dish was the Chicken Fried Rabbit: savoury waffle, foie gras ice cream, szechuan blueberries and beeproject honey. Looking at this dish I was excited and didn’t know where to start! Taking a bit of everything and tasting it for the first time was interesting. Waffles were cooked perfectly – it had that golden brown butter crisp as I like to call it, bust still soft and warm on the inside. Blueberries weren’t as sweet as I thought they would be, I think that took me by surprise a bit, but they added something to every bite. The ice cream was nice – small but rich and sweet. The chicken fried rabbit – I was a little disappointed with the breading, I wish there was more spice and flavour to it, just to give it a little kick with every bite. I did like that it was glazed with the sweet honey though, it worked well. Overall I’m happy I tried this dish, but I wish I got more of the sweet and salty taste. Service was good. I had the pleasure of having kitchen staff as well as the owner bringing dishes out to me, and they were all very friendly. Only this I thought was out of place was my servers attire. The inside of this restaurant was very nice and modern looking, but when I looked at my server wearing tan cargo shorts, a shirt and a baseball cap I was a little thrown off… wasn’t sure if he was supposed to be at the beach or serving tables, haha. Regardless the food here is prepared right and for sure worth a try. The nice cookie instead of a spare mint at the end of the meal was also a nice touch. I’ll for sure be back to try more dishes! 🙂

Very tiny restaurant so you can call it imitate but too close for comfort for me, food is really delicious and I really like the little treat we got to take home (muffins) I also like the little store attached where you can buy things to go, I got chilli and beef barley soup and my girls got cookies little pricey imo

Worst dining experience ever. Service was terrible. Steak came out room temperature, so server took it back to kitchen and must have microwaved it. too tough to eat. When the server picked up plates, asked me nothing about the meal I didn’t eat. Came back and asked if I wanted it boxed. I said it was really really really tough. He said nothing and walked away. No adjustment to bill. I paid anyway not wanting to make a scene. Went and talk to the server later. complained about worst steak ever, service, no compromise, and he said nothing. did not even acknowledge my comments. Servers names was Trevor.

This restaurant is fabulous! The service here is outstanding, the food is awesome and it’s a lovely little space. The scallops were soooooo amazing! The truffle frites also so delicious, as well as the pork belly, and even the bread with marrow butter. I had no room left for dessert but they looked excellent. We will be back for sure.

Four of arrived at 6:30PM. The waiter was attentive. We ordered steak, gnocchi, flatbread and lamb taco’s with small bowls of mushrooms and fries. Everything was excellent. The mushrooms were GREAT! For desert we had the dark chocolate, expresso and cappuccino. Why this place isn’t booked solid days in advance is a mystery to me. The room is small, quiet and cozy, the bathrooms are CLEAN. I’ll return often.

So disappointing!!! The service was ok, but I ordered pasta that came out cold and raw! I never send my food back and typically will just suck it up, but the boyfriend agreed after tasting it for himself that it was definitely not worth eating and said something for me. The most disappointing part was when it came back, IT WAS STILL UNDERCOOKED. No, not al dente.. undercooked, as in bright bright white and tough in the centre! I was so shocked but didn’t have the heart to turn it back a second time, so instead I had the whole thing packed up so I could finish cooking it at home! For the scale of restaurant, it was unacceptable. Will not be returning. (I would review my boyfriend’s dish, but it wasn’t memorable enough.)

Expensive, shockingly mediocre food, delivered to the table with indifferent service. making for a most unpleasant experience. There’s really nothing I can recommend about this place.
