We have eaten here lots and used to like the burgers and fries and breakfasts. But when we were there last week the food has changed – portion sizes are now much smaller – way fewer fries and the burger patty was the size of a slider with a regular sized bun. The service has always been quite slow, which we didn’t mind when the food was good. The tables are often dirty when you come in and they are slow to clean — again, we didn’t mind when the food was good.
Good Ol’ PorchBreakfast was as good as usual. The price for the portion you get is pretty good. They cook the meat and sausage as you order and the service is usually good. They just need better chairs on the porch. Other than that, this is a breakfast place anyone would enjoy.
Went in for lunch…. I was the only one in the place. Ordered a burger, fries and a Diet Pepsi. The Pepsi was great. Burger meat patty was exactly as ordered but the bun was VERY stale!Plus….. The fries were among the worst I have ever eaten!Not cooked through, floppy and dripping with grease. If I ever eat here again….. Would NEVER order the fries again. Do these places not get this?? Just cook the fries so they’re crisp! How hard can this be?Waitress was friendly but food was sub-par.
Worst mistake ever checking this place out. Went there for Sunday breakfast and waited 50 minutes only to see others who came in well after us get their breakfast first. I went to counter to complain only to have the owner tell me the order was now up with all the others and I was wrong for complaining. No apology or nothing. The group of 3 that ordered just ahead of us had already ate and were gone and he had the nerve to say I was wrong!! Don’t waste your time as it shouldn’t take that long to cook 2 regular breakfasts. We left without eating it, got refund for only the food when it should have been for the tea and water as well.
Terrible service – girl was not dressed professionally. Drank consistently from water bottle while guy ordered. Said they didn’t have tap water – only well – and that most ppl don’t like taste. Wtf?!
Great breakfast. Went a few weeks ago for breakfast and it was great! Casual atmosphere and you get your own coffee but their pancakes were excellent
Kind of surprised this place is in business!. During my visit last summer, my wife and I dined in and struggled to pick things off the menu that seemed appealing. Sure enough, we ordered a burger, pineapple milkshake, and hot dog. To start with, the burger and hot dog had the aesthetic appeal of something I could make at home in two minutes and tasted like leftovers from the day before, meanwhile the pineapple milkshake tasted like flavourless thick milk. To make things even better, the server-person came by while we were halfway finished and asked if we were done so she could take our food. Not only that, but when she did come to collect our baskets when we were done, she also grabbed our 3/4 full milkshake and threw that out. I do not know if this is an accurate representation of this dive, but I still grimace every time I drive by this place claiming it has the best burgers and food in the ‘Peg. I strongly suggest you consider anywhere else for food (considering I had to take this time to forewarn you about wasting your own time).
