California mushroom pizza is impossibly good oozing with layers of multiple cheeses and a variety of mushrooms. Nachos are of the best in the area. This is the reason for the bulk of the rating! Other menu items have been ok, not great. Nothing memorable. We tried their new brunch the other day which also wasn’t great. It tasted passable but the menu was tiny and I don’t think asking to substitute ham for a vegetarian option was unreasonable to ask when there was only 1 kind of breakfast pizza (ham & onion). They removed the ham but refused to give tomatoes or anything instead. The omelette was good but the hash browns were average. The lounge has very comfortable seating and a huge TV.
Excellent pizza, thin crust, lovely sauce. Second meal here, both really good. Leanne was our server, very nice and helpful. This was my birthday dinner, and was surprised by an amazing chocolate torte with sparklers! So thoughtful, thank you so much!
Yup I do like ordering pizza from here. It’s a nice change from your normal tomato/marinara sauce. Ordered the two smalls – no.1 and the Mediterranean twist is the other I believe. Little pricier for pies here but is a nice treat once in a while. Ordered mediums the other evening and the pizza tasted great! I enjoy the no.1 with pep, mushroom and salami. Yum! August 2017: Drove by here a few weeks ago and saw their sign outside the restaurant advertising for the Jericho pizza. Decided why not! I like Chris Jericho and figured why not try the pie named after our hometown hero 🙂 Went with a large and again the same weird circle cut in the middle of the pie. I thought maybe first time when I ordered in July it was simply a one-off…. but no, this is a thing? I still don’t understand why the pie is cut this way, but other than that I enjoy the taste of their pizza and like ordering from here. Next time I’ll just ask them to cut the pie the good ol fashioned way :)—July 2017:Been a very long time since I had djays pizza and seemed to recall their unique sauce which is more of a creamy style tomato sauce… not sure if that explains it much but it’s different than the usual tomato/marinara. 7 years later and in the area I decided to splurge on the pricier pie and see how the pizza is today. Ordered the no.1 speciality pizza which is pepperoni, mushroom and salami if I recall correctly. The sauce was how I remembered it, not much of a crust if you’re a crust person, toppings and taste were great! Not worth $31.50 tax incl for me though especially when every piece you pick up falls apart in half? See pictures…It’s a perfect cut line around the middle edge of the pie? I’m still trying to figure out if this is on purpose? And If so, why lol? Any regular djay customers able to provide some insight on that?
First visit.Ordered the pizza and I did not like it. I drove all the way from the opposite end of the city.Major disappointment.Restaurant was empty and this was during the dinner rush hour. Will I return?Probably not.
I haven’t been here in a few years because I didn’t enjoy my last experience. I keep hearing good things about the pizza so we tried to go again tonight. We were there around 7:30, it was pretty quiet but it is the long weekend. We waited to be seated but no one came. Because it’s quiet, I walked a bit further into the restaurant because I wanted to make sure they’d see us. Well no one came out at all to even check on their other tables and after ten minutes we left. So disappointing!Updated review: We decided to try it again. This time I’m happy to say that the service was prompt and professional and the pizza was well worth another go. It was so delicious!!
Use to enjoy going there. but the prices are up and the quality is way down. Don’t think I’ll be going back this is sad. Was good for so many years when the dad was running it.
Prime Rib Steak. My steak was cooked just as I like it, veggies were fresh and the potato was flavourful.
