All I can say is I have been waiting to find a Chinese restaurant like this one! First, the dining area is so very tidy and neat. There is no odour or even a detection of smell inside which is unusual but quite nice from the typical odd smell found in Chinese restaurants.Second, the staff is so friendly and easy to communicate with. With all respect, I find it difficult to speak to some staff in Chinese restaurants because either I cannot understand what they are saying or they cannot understand me and get my order wrong.Lastly, the food. I started with the consomme soup which wasn’t the best I’ve had but it was good nonetheless. I then got the fried chicken wings and deluxe Cantonese chow mien. It was so delicious and tasty. The chicken wasn’t overly oily but rather very crispy and fried in fresh clean oil (you can tell by the absence of taste in the oil). The chow mien was incredible!!I highly recommend this restaurant. I’ll be visiting it again to dine in because I live too far to consider it a place I can order take out but the dining experience was very pleasant.
Love the decor. I was stunned with the angled ceilings. Foodwise, could totally go somewhere else. We ordered Cantonese Chow Mien and Fish Fillet Tofu hotpot. The chow mien is bland. All I can recognize is the soy sauce. The fish fillet fare a tad better but for the price of $15.50, never again.
Our favourite NO More. Dalat used to be our favourite place BUT today we ordered take out from Dalat and it was so horrible we couldn’t even eat our dinner. It was bland. Very bland. Absolutely no flavour. The wonton soup was so bland as well as the other dishes. The chicken balls were soggy. Even the rice was missing something. We were so disappointed. What happened to Dalats food ? My husband won’t eat Chinese from anywhere else and now he doesn’t want to eat there ever again. So disappointing. Sorry Dalat , but you really let us down.
Disappointing Experience. Dalat used to be one of my favourite restaurants but I don’t think we’ll be going back anytime soon. I’ve noticed that the quality of the food preparation seems to be sliding. At an in-restaurant visit recently one dish was burn and we did take-away recently and waited for over 45 minutes (after pre-ordering and getting a pick-up time) only to find when we got home that the order was not correct.Sorry turn of events for a once good restaurant.
I will be going back again. I went to the Dalat restaurant in Winnipeg on Taylor. My friend and I had a wonderful time and the food was very, very good. It was a Wednesday night and was it not very busy. We started with Chicken Salad rolls and the peanut flavoured sauce was a delight. Then we had 2 entrees which we shared. There was plenty left to take home for lunch. We are definitely going back and we already know what we are going to try the next time.
Double the price for half the quality of food.. Ordered 7 meatless dishes and 4egg rolls for good friday.Our bill was $117.00. with a discount for paying cash.We found the food really over priced and not enjoyable.If your looking for great Vet food try places like Pho #1 or Pho 675.Half the priced with 100% better quality food.
Overpriced and flavourless. Really disappointed and never ordering from them again. It’s in a nice place but the food is not real Chinese food, let alone very edible.
