Small portions, crapes were burnt. Overall not worth the time or the buzz at all. Eggs Benedict on hard bread not ideal… I would pick Mcdonalds over this any day. But there was one good thing the water was amazing I think might be an import from Paris.
My review will be fast and to the point, you must eat here! The Frenchway Cafe has great food made to perfection! Today I had the special grilled Turkey club with Brie cheese, it was made with…yes real roasted Turkey! I can rave enough about this place! I also recommend getting some of the insanely great Bread Pudding to go.
The mains and baked goods were absolutely delicious. My soup was a bit watery and the sweet potato hash browns were cold. Our server was really good but the whole experience was a bit disorganized. A dedicated hostess would help immensely with wait times etc. Overall a good experience.
Was at a function last night and Frenchway Cafe catered it, they came out with 8 little appetizers for each table, there were 8 people at the table so I guess it was one per person, we were all starving as dinner was an hour late, thank god for the half stale bread on the table. A tiny salad came out first with a skewer of a lemon wedge and 2 beets over some mixed greens it looked like, had a light oil on it, and I guess you were suppose to squeeze the lemon on top for more flavour but it was covered in beet juice and I didnt want to get it everywhere. Dinner finally came out…cold, the chicken was tender and flavourful but I would of liked it to be more of a sauce on it, potato wedges were bland and tasteless, thank god for salt and pepper and the green beans were tough. I pretty much had a bite of everything and I was done, I cant stand cold food. Dessert was a tiramisu thing which I didnt eat. It seems this place is good at breakfast and lunches but fail at catering and dinner. For 75$ it was bad, we stopped at Mc donalds on the way home!
The best Croissants I’ve ever had! I’m not lying. I get 2 every other morning! Buttery, flaky and delicious. Perfect crunchy outer shell with layer after layer of melt in your mouth buttery pastry. I have yet to find better and doubt I will!
Good food but really really rude staff. There are lots of places with good food though, not sure I want to put up with being treated so poorly when we go there.
It is my 60th Birthday and I had asked if they could make a hazel nut slice the day before. They did not have time.. however they made me a hazelnut macaroon! It was perfection in each bite! Every time I purchase a pastry from this place, it is beyond wonderful! Staff is amazing always and they have promised to make the hazelnut slice soon so I will be back again to indulge again!. It truly is done the French way!
