Used to be my favourite……not any more!. I have been eating Gondola pizza for decades, literally. My buddy owned one in Thunder Bay and it was the best. I moved to Winnipeg in 1974 and they were still pretty good. At one time it was the best even though the price was high for what was on it, but the taste, nothing else compared. I don’t understand what happened to them but lets just say that you would be better to go elsewhere. It has been 4 years since I have had a Gondola Pizza and the last one that was still half decent was from the Gondola in Birds Hill. Sad to say Gondola is dead to me. Why did they have to ruin it? Cheap pizza to make, big profit! Big bucks for nothing ($22 for a large 2 topping) but, it used to taste great so it was worth it. Don’t think they will be able to come back now with all the bad reviews and there are many. Sad to see a great pizza become a memory!
Some of my favourite pizza in the city. It’s a toss up between a pepperoni and bacon, or a double bacon on thin crust. It’s a close race for my favourite pizza in the city.
Just like I remember!. Ordered a small thin crust with double cheese, pepperoni, canned mushrooms and bacon for pickup (my hotel was only a few blocks away). It was ready on time and I still had to let it cool down a bit when I got it to my room. It was great! The taste was just as I remember. It was not overdone and was nice and moist. I have a couple of these every time I come to Winnipeg and am never disappointed.
Delivery is insanely slow and manager called and was crazy rude when we refused to accept a pizza that took an hour and 45 mins to be delivered
Gondola was the best pizza ever, I’m from Regina, and we haven’t had Gondola for decades now, so whenever I’m in Winnipeg , Gondola is the first place I head to, over the years I have noticed that it’s not like it used to be…. Slowly deteriorating, This time it was just awful, some genius must have altered the recipe……. Well a great pizza is ruined…… A very heavy taste of cumin….. Yuk…. We ordered from a different location the next day and it was the same….. Goodbye Gondola ….. No more business from me.
Delicious. A pizza family dinner was my treat last night at my folks. I haven’t had Gondola Pizza for many years, and only a couple of times since I was a kid in the 70s. My niece and nephew – in – law said they loved Gondola too, a few years ago but hadn’t had it in a long time. So, I was a little leery about ordering from them because of some of the negative reviews, but decided to give it a shot anyway. I’m very GLAD I did – because it was a total success. 3 different x-large thin crust – (side bacon and mushroom is still my favorite with canned mushrooms, as requested), all hot and flavorful – and everyone agreed that they were as good as we remembered from years back. My Mom actually suggested that the next summer birthday party we have, that we order from Gondola – and I will for sure. The Pembina location is where I went – kind of a kick since it’s been around for as long as I have.
Very dissapointed. I have been ordering pizza at this location for years always good .it started to not be up to gondola standerds.i always order the same one bacon and green peppers ,this one eve. ordered and delivered it just tasted a little off .left it at that the next time the bacon was bad.i phoned to tell them and they said they were sorry the next time it was so bad the bacon was ransid .i phoned them and they did nothing i have not ordered since,then . it is to bad for them and me i can t order at another gondola,.i tried ordering at another gondola but they could not send in our area.i think that u-is unfair to the other resturants because of your chain policy no one is getting my buissness and that is to bad i would continue to order at another location .from what i could see online there are other complaints for that location .i think you should rethink this policy, i would not go out of my area if the pizza was good.they are giving gondola s bad name and it is not doing your company any good either i would like to hear from you but iam not always getting my emails i can be found at 482 arnold ave winnipeg mb. a hutch thanks for your time,
