Say whaaaat veggie burgers!!!!. I remember this place fondly because of my ‘I’ll consume any animal just fire up the grill & put it on there’ father who loved their fat boys. After growing up & nixing meat from my diet, it had been many, MANY years since I had hit up Junior’s.Since the Harvey’s came in, I take it Junior’s has been trying to up their game to keep up with the burger Jones’. I walk by often & see construction paper signs advertising new promos & menu items. After walking by an 2 for $7.00 veggie burger promo for many months, and a particularly grueling day at work, I dragged my man in to Junior’s. Partially because I wanted to try the veggies burgers, and partially because I really needed to use the restroom. It was really no man’s land in there. Which is sad because they have such a nice ‘sunroom’ area & the place could have a lot of potential if the owners put some money in to the interiour. We ordered to go & walked home with our bag of carbs with a side of carbs (veggie burgers & fries). The husband really loved the fries although I prefer mine to be browner & possibly fried longer. Before taking my first bite of veggie burger, I was not expecting to be amazed. I’ve gone to countless restaurants excited to try their ‘new veggie burgers’ only to be disappointed with a costco-style patty, overgrilled & dry. This was NOT the case & it was one of the BEST SURPRISES EVER!!!I’m not sure if the veggie burger pattys are made in store, but I don’t know how it could have possibly been so fresh-tasting if it came from a freezer. Incredibly moist with big, plump whole peas in the patty (not the squished, dehydrated ones I’d come to expect). That complete with all the burger fixings in that steamy bun. I’m pretty sure I ate it in 4 bites. And I’m pretty sure I’m not going to be able to walk by Junior’s without thinking about those burgers again. And I’m pretty sure I just drooled on my keyboard…
Old school burger joint. Chili on the burgers was an interesting touch
