Made a large order for pickup and even called back to add a dish. When I drove down to pick it up after a half hour wait there was No order ready and said I hadn’t ordered anything! So no food at all. Won’t be ordering pickup from here again! To be honest I won’t order or go here again after this experience
I went here for dinner the other day for a sushi fix; I had a friend recommend this place as a place to try.The place had a few other patrons, but not too many. I am not sure if this was a normally dead day, or if its always like this. The decor was interesting. It was a lot darker than compared to a lot of other restaurants, and the floor, to walls to ceiling all clashed. The tables and chairs seemed to be trying to be excessively modern or over the top or something. There seemed to be some sort of wireless button on each table; I have no idea what this button was for as it wasn’t labelled and the server never talked about it. I assume it was be some sort of paging system? I am not used to this so I did not touch it.The service was okay. As far as I can tell, there was only one server, but the place had a lot of curtain dividers, and I didn’t see food prep area. I am used to most restaurants having the food prep area open to be seen from all corners of the restaurant, and this seemed weirdly hidden; but my point is I have no idea how much wait staff there was, but considering the amount of people in the place, if there was any additional wait staff, I would consider it quite slow.I like simple rolls, so I ordered my favorite simple one ingredient rolls of Salmon Maki, Tuna Maki, and Shiitake roll with Miso soup. The miso soup seemed good. It was a little bigger than most places, and the amount of seaweed and tofu were very appropriate. The broth tasted good, and this was definitely good value.I felt the price of all the rolls to be a tad higher than most other places; I usually view them as being between $3-4 each and these were all just above $4. The size of the rolls were average, and the filling to rice ratio was perfect. The price wasn’t outrageous, but it definitely isn’t as good value as other restaurants (were talking 25-50 cents; again not the end of the world, but when you can go elsewhere for cheaper, then why go here?).Overall I am not sure if I would go here again for sushi, I would like to come but for the korean food instead. The weird decor and service doesn’t inspire me to take someone here, and the value of the sushi didn’t seem as good as others places I have been. It’s not a bad place, and maybe that works for the area (as there isn’t many sushi options nearby). MyY expectations may have been higher than they should, considering I was given a recommendation to go here, and I feel like they were not met.
We popped in to Kimchi on a weeknight in between appointments. We knew we only had about 45 minutes and the restaurant was very fast in accommodating us. Food was fresh and well done. We had the bakudan roll, the spicy tuna roll and the crunch sake roll. Rolls came out fast, and were tasty. Extra points for the quick and friendly service here. We would go back. Ambiance – it’s very dark! Like, take out your phone to use the flashlight dark!
Horrible service and sub par food to go along with an expensive price. Would not try this again nor would I recommend. Much better places on Pembina Hwy to spend time and money at. Keep on driving…….
Yummy vegetarian sushi options, and they don’t cheap out on the avocado chunks either, which is awesome. Service can be kind of hit & miss but I’ve never left feeling disappointed in my overall experience
The sushi was good and my mom also had the salmon entre and really enjoyed it. Quiet environment and private which was really nice. Nice service overall. Only things the table was missing napkins even when we asked her for it, and it was super dark we had hard time reading the menu!
Sub-par when compared to the north end location. Tiny portions of beef tatake and way worse service. The other location is worth the drive !!!
