Blown away by the great service and fantastic food! Kind of a hidden spot, but when you know where you’re looking… you’ll be happy you did. Had a lovely dinner for four filled with appetizers and mains. Recommend their famous dumplings (it’s all in that special sauce). We will be back!
My Mother-in-law wanted the Cioppino soup for her birthday after seeing the write up of La Scala in Ciao magazine. Since there are lots of little grand kids running around, we decided to ask the owner if we could place an order for pick up. He was incredibly accommodating and made our birthday dinner extra special. Everything was cooked to perfection and still warm when I arrived home. Everyone enjoyed their dinner and my Mother-in-law loved her soup! He is very passionate about the food that he prepares and proud of the renovations to his restaurant. We look forward to visiting him at the restaurant once we find a babysitter!
one of the best places in winnipeg! warm italian greetings and a welcoming glass of La Scala is a great way to begin an evening of pure gastronomic joy. spaghettini with peachs, tomato concasse, mozzarella, basil and a fennel shallot vinaigrette is the creation of a virtuoso. pasta dishes like spagheti with fresh clams, fresh chitarrine pasta with dungeness crab or wild boar casarecce could inspire us to burst into song. and swiss chard with caoers, olives and anchovies. Authentic. Italian. Wonderful.
