Alright for a quick snack. I stopped in for a quick lunch today and grabbed two sushi packs (2 for $10). They are pre-packaged refrigerated sushi, not made fresh to order, so as long as that is your expectation, this place is alright. You can definitely find higher quality rolls at a similar price point, so buyer beware. Basically, it is what it is: good for a quick snack.
Yum!. This is a small cafe in the second floor skywalk of Portage Place (close to the entrance to the Hydro building). They are open weekdays in the day for the office crowd. They have a variety of sushi bentos that are on special two for $10. If you only buy one it’s about $7 plus tax, so it’s worth the money to get two. The sushi variety is good (chicken teriyaki, spicy crab, spicy salmon, and a few that have combinations) — I highly suggest the spicy sushi, it’s really good! They also have bentos with things like gyoza, vietnamese style spring rolls (a bit dry), and korean beef (bulgogi). You can also order a full plate of bulgogi served with salad and spicy dumplings for $10 (highly recommended!), they make it fresh to order. They also have things like sandwiches, veggies and drinks. The service is also fast and friendly. Better than the sushi in the food court(s)! 🙂
