Amazing food! Everything was perfect, lots of flavours! Good spot to to share a few dishes with friends or on a date with a loved one. Our server was also really great. Cant wait to go back!
After trying Enoteca, we had to check out Maque. Still dont know how to properly pronounce it, but after the 4 dishes we had, I have no problem saying this is easily one of our new favorite restaurants of the city. The steamed pork buns were amazing, and if they werent closed on a Monday, I’d be picking up 4 more. The Mongolian lamb with egg noodles was ridiculously tasty. Atmosphere was cozy and intimate, the serving staff was attentive, but the star was obviously the food. Ive had some great asian fusion but I honestly cannot wait to go back here!
The menu and food combinations may be a little overwhelming to some but just dive in; every dish we had surpassed our expectations! The prices were very reasonable for the quality of food and service. Would definitely recommend going.
Tonights dinner at maque was interesting! Tried four dishes. The Fried rice with shiitake, oyster mushroom, truffle & shaoxing dressing, soft egg. Delicious, but a bit too much salt for my liking. Second was the sous vide yam with cashew & banana squash curry, brown butter, hot & sour, celery, pineapple and basil. Pretty good, the sauce was very flavourful. Third was the jumbo crab, bacon, lobster & coconut red curry bisque, caviar, black truffle and chives. Pretty good. I’m not usually a big seafood person unless it’m on the west or east coast, but it wasn’t bad. And lastly, the Mongolian lamb, egg noodles, tomato, carrot, and chilli butter with crisp shallot. Honestly wasn’t too big on this dish, i think I wasn’t much of a fan of the sauce – it just didn’t have flavours that stood out. Service was good, easy to find location, and fair pricing. Over all, I’m glad I tried this place to try some new dishes.
Had a fantastic dinner. Best server I’ve ever had! He actually knew what he was talking about and recommended how many plates to order from each section and served them in a suggested order. The wine selected was also great. We will be back!!
Had heard a lot about this restaurant and was a big fan of Deseo so I was excited to finally get to try this place. We didn’t book a reservation but they were very accommodating and were able to find us a table right away (on a Saturday night!) Everything about this experience was on point. Fantastic ambiance. It was completely full but it didn’t feel over crowded or too loud. Our server was great and made some great food and wine recommendations. All staff there was very attentive to us without being overwhelming and timed all of our dishes perfectly. We ordered 4 dishes: steamed bun,Brussel sprouts, duck confit and crab. All amazing. Great flavour, beautiful looking, and reasonably priced for the quality of food. Really impressed with their attention to detail in all areas. We will be back soon and recommending to others. Definitely one of my new favourite restaurants.
Enjoyed the steamed buns, the greens, jicama salad was excellent. Not crazy about the fried rice with tofu skin. The food was great, service was excellent, but like its sister restaurant, Enoteca it was quite expensive. I was also not pleased that they would not split up the bill. As vegetarian options go, food is usually priced less than the meat based dishes. Unfortunately our friends wish to split the bill which is no big deal for a few bucks, but this was significant. Not pleased they weren’t accommodating in this manner. As stated earlier, food was good but pricey. Great for a special occasion but not for a weekly dinner out
