If you are vegan, do not go here. Obviously I never expect much from a burger place catering to meat eaters, but when I saw they had a whole vegan menu I was really excited. Especially because they had vegan poutine! My boyfriend got the falafel burger, it was disgusting. The falafel was hard and dry, there was basically no tahini on it. I had the black bean burger, it was mushy and bland and fell apart. Also lacking in sauces. For sides we got onion rings and the vegan poutine. The onion rings were soggy and mushy and the poutine was truly one of the worst things Ive ever tasted. The vegan gravy is a grey flavourless congealed blob and the tofu curds are strange and definitely dont taste like cheese. We spent $40, had a bite or two of each item before throwing it out and ordering a pizza. Maybe the food is good if you eat meat & dairy but I would recommend all vegans to go literally anywhere else.
A friend and I both had the black bean burger with fries and vegan gravy. Burger barely has any taste at all and falls apart. Fries and gravy were good. My friend initially wanted the falafel burger and vegan poutine (which they didn’t have) Kinda weird for a Monday to be out of multiple items. Considering we were the only customers there, service was attentive. We were really hoping for good food but won’t be returning.
Ordered delivery so I can’t speak to the service, but I got the chicken burger and for some reason I thought it would be an actual chicken breast but it was one of those breaded processed pucks of meat in a perfect circle that probably cost $0.50 cents a piece that they reheated from frozen. I could have done that at home. Not enough mayo either, it was super dry. Not worth it.
Their food and drinks are amazing. I would highly recommend their deep fried pickles, probably the best in Winnipeg. Rooftop patio is excellent for summer night. I just wish they put more effort into their Instagram page, the pictures they take makes their food look undesirable.
The Swizzle Styx dined here this week and it was pretty good. We had a nice patio day so we enjoyed the roof top. The patio has such great potential but is definitely in need of some TLC. The food was excellent, delicious and tasty burgers and good fries and onion rings. The service was excellent, our server was Victoria and she was top notch.
Went here with my husband on a weeknight for dinner. It was our first visit and we had a Groupon to use up. I ordered the 3 mini sliders which comes with three mini burgers of your choice (choose between mb burger, maple bacon, mac and cheese and one with coleslaw on it – the name slips me). I went with the maple bacon, mb burger and mac and cheese sliders. Mb burger was good, the mac and cheese one was bland… the Mac and cheese didn’t have much flavor. The maple bacon was the better out of the three. We ordered chili fries to share which were okay. My husband ordered the mb burger and thought it was good. I noticed they had chicken souvlaki pita on the menu which I wanted to try but couldn’t do it because I figured how can I not try the burgers on a place called market burger. Our server was very nice I’m not sure if I’d hurry back here myself and if I did, I’d try something else on the menu.
This is a cool little place for a casual hangout. They have some interesting decore making the place feel cozy. For the food, it’s alright. I got the burger slider platter so I could try three in one sitting. The picnic burger was okay, the coleslaw helped the burger pop a little but it wasn’t anything I was crazy about. The mac and cheese burger was okay. Found the mac and cheese a little bland for my liking. And the MB burger just tasted like a regular burger to me. Had to get a side of the perogy poutine and it was also alright. The perogy filling was somewhat bland, would have been nice with a little pepper or something. Just felt like the food here could have been better with a little seasoning and spice maybe, it was just too regular tasting. Otherwise I like that they have different things on their menu, things you don’t usually see in other places.
