Martinis were excellent, waitress was really helpful in deciding which to get. I wish the prices were q bit more reasonable though. $9.50 seems like a bit much for a 4-ounce drink. (Did not have sushi, just martinis, but looking at other reviews, will try sushi there next time!)
Love their sushi, cocktails and their service!! My gf made reservations 2 weeks in advance but they didn’t go as planned – a group reserved the entire back room and it didn’t look like they would be leaving anytime soon. Luckily they were able to accommodate our group of 8 upstairs. Our server was phenomenal. It filled up quickly, people were standing around waiting for tables, and she made sure we did not go unnoticed!! The food is filling, FRESH, but it does come with a price tag. We had an awesome experience and will definitely return.
Very happy with the service and privacy in the traditional Japanese sitdown dining experience. Clean, quiet and dimmed just right. Everything we ordered was great and all I have to say is … Spicy marinated tuna. Mmmmmm. Flavour blew us away. Tempura shrimp was great and take your pick with the rolls. Haven’t had a bad one yet. One of the best sushi places I’ve been to. You have to try this place!!
This is my favourite place for sushi! The restaurant is really cool and the service here has always been impeccable. I agree it might seem a bit pricey but the freshness and quality of the food is by far superior to your average sushi joint. The red dragon roll is probably my favourite although everything I’ve tried has been excellent. The salmon sashimi was so bright and fresh tasting, the tempura is super lightly breaded and so good, and the dynamite roll was great. I always feel like it’s a special treat to dine here and can’t wait to go back!
Best sushi in Winnipeg!!!!! LOVE the Spicy Tuna Appetizer! we always have the Red Dragon roll and the Fashion roll, they are unique and delicious. Service is always excellent, very friendly. We will be back again soon.
Meiji Sushi is hidden away on the corner of River and Osborne, and though I’ve passed it many a times, I didn’t have the opportunity of eating here until today. Now my only regret is that I didn’t come by earlier! With an interesting entrance, and ambience, Meiji Sushi had my complete attention from the moment I walked in. The restaurant was comparatively empty, and the service was impeccable. Our server was very polite, and helpful. We ordered the firefly dinner and spicy village rolls. The firefly dinner was a steal for the price it came at, and it was delicious. Our server suggested the tsunami roll, and it blew my taste buds away. Definitely going back for more. Overall, the entire evening was an enjoyable experience. The ambience, the service, and the food all come together perfectly to ensure that you have a good time. Until next time, Meiji Sushi.
Excellent sashimi! I have never had a bad piece of fish here. This is my go to sushi place, and their fashion roll is delicious and not available at any other sushi restaurant. It is a bit more expensive then most, but in this case you truly get what you pay for.
