It’s been probably 10 years since I’ve been here and was very good back then. What happened to this place! Quality of sushi was so low I’d rather go to an all you can eat sushi place and have sub par sushi than subject anyone to that. Service was bad and the staff spent most of their time hanging out and talking to each other, there were only 2 tables so no excuse. I didn’t order much just a bowl of miso broth and chopped scallop roll. My friend ordered a dragon boat meal that came with side salad, miso soup, 2 basic rolls and assorted tempura. All the rolls had little flavor, the rice was not seasoned and fell apart. Tempura was soggy, not seasoned and the dipping sauce just tasted of sugar. Miso was very old and lukewarm and very salty. My friend paid $27 dollars for her meal! A bento box meal usually costs around $16. the carpet is mildewy and rank that the smell permiates the room and very off-putting. Bathrooms were dirty with graffiti everywhere and the stalls don’t have locks.
One of the best sushi places I’ve ever been too! The house salad dressing is amazing and the service is great. Also the fish is always fresh. The one thing that I love about this place is that this is the only Japanese restaurant that has so many innovative rolls but not only that it has such variety. I can’t express how much I love this place. A couple of my favorite rolls that you must try is the Meiji special roll, Canuk roll, fashion roll ( made with rice paper), volcano roll, and you must try the marinated spicy tuna.
I feel like this place should be better. I ordered the yakiniku and it was very tasty. The problem with my dish was that it was supposed to come with stir fried veggies. My plate came loaded with cabbage and not much else. It’s just not what I expected. Our table was right in front of an air conditioner and it was freezing. The decor of the place was really nice though, and it felt unique.
