Came here for a quick bite and before my event at Shaw Park, and it was okay. Super friendly staff, and it in a nice location. Was disappointed with the portion I got, for the price I paid I wish they would have given me more. The gravy and cheese curds were great and the fried are decent. Not sure if I would get any non fast food here, but it’s a decent place to grab a snack or a drink.
walked in with more than 10 people. reggae hut? thats a lie. these people have no idea what reggae is.hated the staff. 10 years ago this place was actually good. it sucks now.stuff is unfriendly. please restaff and change your menu. so upset with my experience. garth is the manager now. complain to him.
We visited this restaurant May 17, 2016 at 5:30 for dinner. We were visiting Winnipeg and thought to try out this place. We were greeted quickly and seated. We wanted to sit on the patio, but it seemed that some tables didn’t have umbrellas. There were ample umbrellas because as the customers came and went, some others asked for umbrellas and the girls would go some place and gather one for them, by then we were already seated and in the midst of our meal. Our server name was Lara, she was fantastic, as she was the only staff smiling. She was the only server working inside and was not interrupted by this other staffer with long blonde hair and glasses, presumably shift manager. There were about 5 or 6 girls working the tables and a blonde long haired lady with glasses walking around with her nose in the ceiling. pardon the expression, again I think she was the shift manager. This girl has no idea how to manage, She clearly was interrupting the other servers orders, drinks, tabs, problems, as there was some thing happening and they were given compensation. The shoulder length black hair darker skin was smiling as we seated, but soon afterwards looked as if she wanted to cry. She dealt with the customers issues and this tall blonde long hair lady with glasses didn’t approach the customers. Both the server and she discussed this case in the dining room, she offer discount. It wasn’t professional on any scale and it felt like dining at a McDonald’s. She kept walking in and out from the balcony and inside. She was taking dishes and giving drinks to the girls to give to their tables, totally confusing, taking drink orders and asking one girl what her code was to add items on the machines. . As well, this same lady was often sitting on the patio with a group that she seemed to have know well. Those customers, I think were either other off duty staff or good friends. One young blonde boy kept going to and from the kitchen and his table with food and drinks, maybe he owns the place. However it didn’t seem to professional how things operated. This young man was swinging the patio door more often than the servers, very interrupting. Some of the service girls were scared, they were not pleasant, they were on edge, peeking through the inside windows onto the patio on their customers. this looked so bad from the inside customers perspective. They were dressed nicely, but seemed intimidated by their leader. Further more, I don’t think a restaurant should operate how I witnessed this that evening, hence why I think the owner should know, or at least see this. I tried to find a contact email to directly email and not share the incident, but after searching for 30 minutes, I ended up doing this review. As for our food, it was ok. the Greek salad was tasty, As were the spinach dip. My main dish, the bun was hard with the pulled pork, I didn’t eat the bun at all, fries were good, dessert was ok as well. The washroom are and were despicable, disgusting and gross. So mush filth everywhere and certainly not a pleasant sight walking to the washroom. This restaurant has so much potential, location right near the water, plenty of patio space and lots of space to grow. Visitors all the time there. Staff definetly needs to be retrained and that shift manager, if she is that, she should not be working there. A more professional approach should also be brought to this establishment, customers go there to dine and get on with their evening, not to walk into drama and a show. Clean it up
This place is…. Alright they beer… Is waaaay overpriced. Food on the other hand is okay. Over all it’s nice to sit outside and relax.. But don’t drink to many buds, cause it’s over priced..
It’s hard to give it a rating when you go twice and never get served. Last attempt to go ended in my wife, daughter and myself being seated right right away only to sit for twenty minutes without anyone giving us water or stopping. They just kept walking by and saying someone would be with us shortly. We finally left and went to the beachcomber where we enjoyed the service and food. I was so disappointed that I text muddy waters while at the other restarant. I was supprised to actually get a text back a few days later saying they would forward it to someone that gives shit. And I have always enjoyed wow hospitality in the past.
Came here for lunch with a co-worker. It was a Thursday and we had the whole restaurant to ourselves! This was my first time coming here and I was shocked at how quiet it was. I was actually worrying about how the food was going to be while we ordered.I ordered the house salad with calamari and a pound of honey garlic wings. My colleague ordered a half rack of ribs with beans. Both items were meaty and very tasty. Wings and ribs were hot and fresh and the calamari for the salad was fried perfectly!Service was attentive and they accommodated my request for water in addition to our rum and cokes as well as my request for dressing on the side happily! I think the items are a tad on the pricey side but not unreasonable for the size and quality. We had a nice view and our waitress was very attractive. I’m still unsure as to why this restaurant was so quiet, perhaps the cold snap kept people away, but I definitely enjoyed my lunch here.
I really feel they’re dropping their standards in the past year. We got to our table and given menus. The menus were disgusting! Full of stains. That threw me off. The wine menu was on a simple piece of paper. No big deal but when it’s covered in coffee stains and shriveled up to me it doesn’t show care or passion. The service was friendly and food was good. Served really fast tho. Like they knew what we were ordering… I also wish they had curtains over their windows, it was a bit hard to enjoy dinner with the sun in my eyes.
