If you like waiting hours for mediocre Chinese food then this place is for you! Otherwise, save your valuable time and check out the plethora of other Chinese food places this city has to offer. We placed an order at 430 pm (so early!) and were told the wait would be an hour (!) but they would call if the food would be ready earlier. No call, so we cruised in just after 530 pm… and proceeded to wait another half hour in the restaurant. Seriously… an hour and a half to make 4 dishes??? The food was nothing to write home about – chicken balls were greasy, chow mein bland. Definitely not going back!
Great food…but worth the wait?. The food is consistently good and seems reasonably priced…but pickup is at least double the wait time they quote you. So yes…they tell you an hour (usually) but it is more like 2 hrs. Sunday night…weds night…same story…every time.

Waiting, a game they like to play.. I originally wasn’t going to share this story but when I see they have 83% liked I wanted to make sure that people know where their fault is.I have dined in an ordered take out on separate occasions. Dining in went okay, take out… well….We ordered, they said it would be ready in about an hour. We lived 5 minutes away. We waited 50 minutes, my girlfriend went to go get it. She waited in their restaurant for an HOUR to pick up food they said would be ready when she got there. There were people who were waiting before her and still waiting when she left.I don’t think they have any concept of when they will have things ready or doing things in order. I will never go back. I would never risk it. I recommend Four Seasons instead, (sort of) close by in Southdale.
Maybe there is only one employee???. Delivery took FOUR HOURS and they didn’t care. FOUR. HOURS. I wouldn’t have a customer base if I did that…
Slow and rude. VERY slow. Waited 4 hours…… was told it would be one. food was cold. called to complain was told to eat it anyways. ill never go back
Terrible. DO NOT go to New Golden Inn for food. They are horrible people. Treated us terribly made us wait 3 hours for our food then told us they didn’t have enough drivers so we needed to come and pick up our food. Argued with us when we told them we wouldn’t pay full price for having to wait so long. He gave us a small discount and packed all of our food sideways so by the time we got home the food was pouring out everywhere. My boyfriend called them back and asked to speak to the manager who was extremely rude telling us that we shouldn’t complain and eat the food we were given that we can not get a refund, that if we are hungry we should just eat. I will never be wasting my money there again and I hope to stop you all from wasting your money at this place. They do not deserve good customers if they treat them like garbage.
