When Im in the mood for Greek food, this is one of my go-to restaurants. I absolutely love the lemon rice soup, and the gyros are also really yummy. Service is always attentive, and there is something on the menu for everyone in my family. Soup and salads have decent amount of chicken in them, and the chicken always tastes like good quality chicken, not the fake tasting stuff that is served at so many restaurants now. Nikos is not in my neck of the woods but I often make my way there when heading to movies at Grant Park. Definitely worth a visit if you like Greek food.
Unbelievable, authentic Greek food. Their lemon potatoes are like something Yaya made!! So good. I cant say enough about this place. Greek salad for days!
Well guys if you like calamari, garlic bread, greek salad, etc…. this place wont disappoint you. The food is top notch and I was actually kinda surprised how good it was.The exterior of this restaurant isn’t exactly the most appealing with its strip mall look and lack of character. The service was top notch and they seem to care about their customers. The calamari was cooked perfectly and was as good as any I have had anywhere. Not too crispy and not rubber either! lol. The Greek salad didn’t have big hunks of core or spots of rust like some places do and everything was fresh and crispy. The Pita bread is definitely worth ordering but be prepared to share as there is enough for three or four people unless you are a binge eater. The one small thing I didn’t like was that the tziki sauce was missing that bite and not what I would expect from a Greek restaurant. All in all we enjoyed the food and would go back for seconds for sure.
Lunch with colleagues was great at Nikos. I have been coming to Nikos for many years as they are close by to work. They offer some pretty standard Greek fare and service is almost always prompt.Nikos is definitely not as cozy as some of the other restaurants at Corydon. Decor is sparse and there are hard tile floors which for a small restaurant can still get quite loud. The patio is kind of nice in summer, but is basically facing the parking lot and the cars get really close to you. What really shines at Nikos is the food. I havent ever had anything disappointing at Nikos. Though I have seen their prices increase over the years, I would say they still offer good value on the food.
We have loved Nikos Restaurant for over 15 years and each and every time it never disappoints. The food is delicious and the service is outstanding. It is always one of our top picks to meet for lunch. Please try one of our absolute favorites the roast chicken sub or Cesar salad with roast chicken. Thank you always to Nick, Shelby and Jack. We will be back soon. Ps. the new menu
I have been going to this restaurant for 25 years and have always enjoyed the food. We walked in on a Friday night when it would typically be very busy. I expected to have to wait for a table but the place was half empty. Now I know why. This last weekend they changed their menu and Nikos, my Greek food fix for more than two decades, just got WAAAAAAY more expensive. It used to be a reliably delicious family restaurant. Their staple, the lemon chicken dinner always included the chicken, potatoes, rice and a salad an admittedly generous meal. Well, they removed the salad from the standard entree. And while you can still order one you will have to pay an additional $3.25 for the privilege. A plate of fries will run you $7.00. The lighter options no longer exist and a typical entree is nearly twenty dollars. *Side* salads are ten dollars. I know food prices have gone up but this restaurant seems to have developed pretentions of grandeur. Like so many wonderful Winnipeg hole-in-the-wall standards, Nikos has developed the smell of an old favourite that has been taken over by a second generation offspring who is now planning to cash in on their parents hard work and dedication in order to finance their lavish vacations.
Early delivery dinner today…I haven’t had Nikos food in probably over 15 years, I ordered the calamari, side greek salad and onion rings and I only ordered the rings because on there facebook page they looked like real onions rings….well they weren’t they were just the frozen thin ones…I asked for extra tzatziki, someone from skip called me to say that it cost and extra 80 cent, that’s fine…well I never got it anyways after I paid for it, but upon opening it up to dunk my calamari, it has this stringy stuff in it and it tastes like nothing…so I’m kinda glad I didn’t get more…calamari was ok but I’m not sure why would put hot calamari in a plastic container, it was all warped….greek salad was tasteless, not even romaine and no dressing…pretty poor, its getting so annoying ordering from restaurants who don’t take pride in there food.
