Horrible customer service.. So some friends and I each ordered a combination B from Peking on corydon. When we received our meals, we realized there was no chow mein. We figured it was just a mix up so we called to let them know. Usually when an order is wrong the business is apologetic and tries to make up for it, but these people literally refused to believe they had messed up. I totally understand giving us the wrong thing, everybody makes mistakes, but to flat out deny that they were at fault just seemed very childish. Anyways, the food is decent but the customer service was just horrible. I truly do not understand how they thought that was okay, to give us the wrong thing, charge us more, and on top of that be extremely rude to us. Oh that’s right I didn’t mention how rude these people were over the phone… In the end I decided to take my business elsewhere and I will probably never go back there. Has anyone else had this type of experience there? I know they’ve been in business for a long time so they must be good to some of their customers. Hope this helps…
This place has to be a front for organized crime. Nobody could stay in business this long & serve food this bad. I’ve ordered here a few times & it’s been terrible everytime.
Just OK. Well, it’s alright for westernized Chinese food. Pretty generic taste wise but not terrible. We got the dinner for three which was Chicken Chow Mein, Sweet & Sour Spare Ribs, Breaded Fried Shrimps , Pork Fried Rice, Steamed Rice, 3 Egg Rolls and 3 Fortune Cookies for about $37.50 (cash pick-up). For the price it’s a good amount of food. The sweet and sour sauce for the ribs was very tangy, more sour than sweet but I liked it. We both agree the Chicken in the Chow Mein was a bit rubbery. The rice was good. The food was incredibly hot, even after leaving it sit for 1 hour it was still steaming hot when we took it out…so that’s good. They charge extra if you use a credit card and they don’t take debit. It’s one of the few Chinese takeout places in the Corydon area.
Best Takeout in Winnipeg. Always liked this place since I first arrived in Winnipeg 22 years ago. Terrific value for money and food is always consistent, ranging between a 7.5 and 8.5 on the 10 point scale. (Its NOT gourmet folks!)…..almost always hot and retains heat for at least 15 to 20 minutes if you’re on the road. Major weakness is they don’t have a reliable delivery system (40 to 70 minutes is the norm) and their specialty (actually an asian specialty) Chicken is sometimes a bit gummy and slightly under-cooked. Other than that its a solid 4 out of 5 stars in every respect. Be prepared to ask for extra condiments as they really chintz on these.
My eat-in food. Peking is just a call away from a fulfilling tummy. They may not be the best for your taste buds (considering they use a lot of msg) but their portions are great for the price you pay, and this is usually what is expected for a take away Chinese restaurant. I’ve been there countless times and the guy I always see is very good-natured. If your’e hungry, this is a good suggestion, I guarantee you’ll have leftovers for your hunger, tomorrow.
Awful!. We ordered spring rolls, chicken fried rice, and lemon chicken for delivery. The service was good: food arrived on time and was still hot; but the food was pretty awful. Lemon chicken: It’s just chicken chunks and binder, rolled into logs, battered and fried, and served on a bed of shredded cabbage with questionable-tasting (vinegar?) lemon sauce. The chicken fried rice had thin beige strips of what I think was processed sandwich meat. The peas were my favourite part. The only saving grace were the spring rolls. They were crispy and greasy in the exact way I want from my North American -style Chinese food. Just don’t eat any leftovers the next day, unless you enjoy flatulence.
They’re quick, give discounts for cash and they are great people. Family business. Tasty food too
