I have been here a number of times and never had a bad meal until recently. The setting is beautiful – a romantic view of the skyline. Windows everywhere. Hard-working, pleasant staff (although grossly understaffed). The proteins are good. The plating is pretty. Its on the higher end scale for pricing. A burger and fries is $26.BUT the meal I had recently was so terrible that I have to discourage anyone from ordering it. It was the Forks Market Salad Bowl (the ramen bowl). I wasnt very hungry and it sounded like an interesting option – salad using ramen, spinach, a poached egg. It was gross. Slimy, improperly cooked huge amounts of ramen with a few small pieces of spinach and other odds and ends. Im not sure if the ramen had been sitting for hours in the kitchen or drained poorly, but it was a gloopy chunk stuck together. Do not order it!Last nights meal was a 0.5 in that it was edible, but I bumped it up to a 3.0 since the past appetizers, short ribs and fish dishes I have had were good.
Somewhat disappointed. The overall atmosphere was amazing. The view was so great, loved that. But the service and food were not great. Started with ordering a bottle of wine. After waiting over 10mins, waitress came back to say they had none, and we had to order a more expensive bottle. Shared a salad that was very bland and small for the price. Ordered the 4oz steak with what was supposed to be mushrooms, red wine sauce and pure squash. The pure overpower the Dish, almost filling it like a soup order, there were barely 4 mushrooms on the plate, and the sauce disappeared in the pure. Shared the fingerling potatoes, and they were RAW, not at all cooked to done. They exchanged them for fries, which at a nice meal was not what I was looking for, but they were probably the best food item we had. Super slow service, warm wine that was obviously not being chilled enough, and overall meh for food. If it werent for the wonderful location this would have been a 2 star review. So disappointed because I really wanted this to be a place I came more often. But at these prices, even the view isnt worth it.
Food was delicious although we had been looking forward to the valentines menu (cancelled and while most reservations were notified, we werent). Our table shared a charcuterie board that was incredible, but our server implied that it changes quite frequently and he wasnt quite sure of what was actually on the board. Entrees were good too (our table had the duck, cowboy steak and seafood carbonara). We had a hard time with the menu since we had really built up our expectations with a specialty menu, but would probably head back to try out the lunch menu.
Went to Sunday brunch, food was stone cold. Has Browns and croissants were good. There was no waffle bar like the website Saudi the waffle triangles were rock hard! I really wanted to love the experience but I just couldn’t. For the experience you expect you just don’t get. View is nice obviously but food is below average
Great location, lovely view but the good is meh. That is really all I can say… it wasn’t fabulous, it wasn’t awful but meh. It is a bit pricey so if your looking for the best meal I probably wouldn’t go here
Obviously we enjoyed the wonderful view of Winnipeg, but considering the prices, the food was mediocre and unfortunately the service was awful! We were underwhelmed when we walked off the elevator. We had taken time to dress up for our special evening out and the host was in cotton pants and a casual sweater. The waitress was running around like a chicken with her head cut off. She never asked our sons if they wanted a drink we had to go get her to ask her. She never asked us if we wanted appetizers, soup or salad etc. We expected more at those prices!! We weren’t asked if we wanted coffee after!! Very disappointed. Food was ok but we left hungry. If it wasn’t for the view, the rating would be a 1/5!!
To start off the view was breathtaking, definitely best restaurant view in Winnipeg. Although the service was awful, it took over an hour to receive our appetizers. We were there for 3 hours and saw the server a total of 3 times. I found the food very good, I tried a variety of different things on the menu. The prices were very high. The elk ravioli and the pesto pasta very flavourful. I found the steak lacking seasoning but other than that it was very good. Would come back again.
