Expensive for what you get but since theres no way else to eat when you want to spend a day at thermea (save cramming a sandwich and a can of wine from home in the change room), it is what it is. The food is light but everything weve had was quite good. There is a daily soup and the butternut squash is excellent. The smores are an extra special treat, depending on the wind you can roast the marshmallows yourselves. The seating should be more comfortable considering its supposed to be a relaxation area. They are expanding/renovating so perhaps this will be addressed.
I have been to the restaurant at Thermea twice now. The latest is yesterday for lunch. I left thinking the same thing both times…. the food is good but the service is way too slow. The entire endeavor yesterday took 90 minutes. Now I realize this is a spa and things are generally a bit slow but that time line is unacceptable. It took 30 minutes to receive our pitcher of Sangria after ordering it. Leaving guests dry for that long is crazy. Once the Sangria and food arrived, it was great. My wife had soup and a sandwich while I chose one of their bowls. Both meals were spot on. I just don’t understand how such simple food can take that long. All that being said, we love the spa and will likely be back to the restaurant because there isn’t another option for food. I did notice that there is construction next to the patio seating area. Hopefully they are adding another option that will be quicker.
The food is hit and miss here. It’s often under seasoned and a little too avant-garde for me, but the staff is great and the smores are pretty great during the summer.I would prefer that they expand their menu a bit since it hasn’t really changed at all in maybe…a year? It’s a bit pricy for what it is, and while it is a spa, I would hope that the menu expands a bit since it’s a little stale.
Good food! Soup was butternut squash, it was delicious. Had a tomato sandwich on rye with garlic aioli which was also good, it was just $18 for a sandwich with tomatoes and soup so, a little pricey. S’mores as a dessert was great.
Been here 3x. Had to eat here as we were using the spa services. The service at the restaurant has been slow every time and seems like they never change their soup (has been lentil soup the past few times). The food is decent but you get sick of it after the first time. Would recommend for the restaurant to change their menu every so often or add new items or specials. A bit overpriced but figured it goes hand in hand being connected to Thermea. The mussels, cheese/mushroom appetizer, smoked trout sandwich and carpaccio were our top picks. Sangria was delicious!
I’ve been here twice now and have thoroughly enjoyed both visits. I enjoy the healthy and light aspect of this menu, it’s a spa after all. My first visit was for wine and cheese and it was lovely. The portion size was very generous, a big baked brie with lots of crostini. My second visit was for soup and salad. The carrot soup was super delicious and I can’t say enough about the beet salad. Service on both visits was very good. I can’t wait to go back again both for the spa and for the food!
I’ve eaten at Thermea twice now, and my wife three times. It’s sad to say, but we haven’t had a good experience yet.The food is, across the board, completely lacking in seasoning, and is generally served cold.My first experience was lunch – I had a bison burger, which was bland and cold. My wife had a sandwich that was ok, but she had to cover it in salt to get some flavor out of it. Same with her soup. Then, we shelled out big dollars for their new year’s eve package, and every last person in the entire spa was saying the same thing as usafter dinner – the food was a complete disappointment, and most was served stone cold. The spa is great, but the kitchen needs a serious shake-up. They bill themselves out as a high-end restaurant, charging high-end prices, but the quality and taste just isn’t there. Service, however, has been great.
