Unfortunately for $36 I would expect a lot more. I got two small sandwiches which were ok but the bread was soggy. Its not very much food for $11 for just the sandwich. Then for an extra $5 you get coleslaw which is again ok and some plain kettle chips. Pickle was the best part. For reference I can get two loaded burgers and fries and yam fries and dips for less money and a ton more food at nuburger etc. so why would I come back. Im still searching for that great sandwich place.

What a wonderful little place for s Saturday breakfast nosh! We had the BBQ Beef Hash for our meal. Has a hint of sweetness from the sauce. Topped with two Poifect! Fried sunny side eggs just runny enough to soak into the beef. Nice thick slice of homemade toast on the side! Bottomless cups of organic dark roast coffee. WE SHALL RETURN!

Food – I shared the Montreal Smoked Meat Sandwich and the Corned Beef Sandwich. The Montreal Smoked Meat was incredible, on par with anything I’ve had in Montreal (maybe a close second to Schwartz’s). The Corned Beef was a little bland, especially when comparing it to the Montreal Smoked Meat sandwich. Go with the MSM sandwich and you will not be disappointed. Can’t speak to anything else, but why would you go to a deli and not get a deli-style sandwich.Service – solid service for a weekday lunch. Staff was perfectly attentive.Decor/ambiance – nice contemporary diner. Not necessarily fancy, but has the desirable deli feel (cooking area is visible, bar-top seating, etc…)Tip – DOUBLE THE MEAT

Thank goodness for this place! Was craving just a sandwich for lunch, but something tasty and non-Subway-ish. What Sherbrook Street Deli has done I think is the key to any small eatery. Take simple food, and make it really well. I had the chicken salad sandwich and the bread was so soft, the chicken salad was so good and perfectly seasoned, and the side chips were homemade, salty and so crunchy (They were perfect ON the sandwich!), the coleslaw was a classic vinegar coleslaw (boo to creamy coleslaw!)…and the pickle is what I expect from a deli pickle. Everything just completely met my expectations and more. I didn’t even require supper I was so full and satisfied the rest of the day. (Maybe because i over ate? lol…who cares, it was so good!)My one small complaint, if you can call it that, was my sandwich just had too much mayo on it. I don’t mind a little, but it hardly needed it and resulted in the mayo seeping through the holes of the rye bread and getting all over my fingers and quite messy. Next time I’d likely order without the mayo on the bread. Needless to say…this was a total win! I will definitely be back.

I have deleted all previous reviews and my long stand-off with this restaurant over a questionable egg-salad sandwich, which went on over 7 months. In the end, the restaurant could have forgotten about me, but reached out to me to rectify poor service which had occurred months prior. In the end I was given 2 free meals, which more than accommodated me, as well as made up for the issue which had occurred. The egg salad on my last visit was very good–creamy and buttery in flavour, I am convinced that the past issue which had come between us, was a one-off incident.I have tried almost everything on this menu (with the exception of liver or tongue); my absolute favs are the goldeye salad and the smoked meat.I must say that I am really happy that Jon did the right thing by his previously loyal customer (me) and enticed me back. <3

Best lox and bagel in the city hands down. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. Great soups and sandwiches as well. Friendly service – great spot in west Broadway.

really cute place, not a ton of seating but we didn’t mind waiting. bigger groups is a bit of a problem as we were 6 people and eventually made a 4 person table work. everything was fresh; you can see the line fixing up your sandwich at the open counter. the in-house made chips are really thin and don’t really seem seasoned which was okay because you get a really big pile and eventually i think salt would make your lips raw. i enjoyed topping them with the spicy in-house made mustard.we all got something different on the menu and it all was enjoyed. i opted for the house made soda, i cant say it was anything special. it seemed like what i create at home with some club soda and a flavoring but i did appreciate the bottomless factor so i could try a few flavors.
