Went for lunch with a friend. Service was prompt and friendly. We shared a spicy peanut soup, sesame chicken, plain chop suey. Everything was tasty! Portions were generous. I would order the same again. I would consider this an average experience – nothing terribly bad or good about it!
just had their deluxe wonton soup… perfect on a cold winters day. I want to go back for another. price is good and food is extra tasty. I highly recommend.
Tried this place for the first time as recommended by a freind’s co-worker. The food wasso so..and nothing to rave about. We normallyorder in every Chinese places we go toour regular chinese foods- stir fry chicken or pork or beef, mixed veggies, sweet sour pork etc., but at thisplace itdidn’t impress us at all. Cutlery and disheswere dirty. Parking is really a challenge. Won’t be back.
The service is great and wow does the food ever come out fast!! Very casual basement restaurant but food is fast and inexpensive. I can’t comment on anything but the soups, but I regularly go for tofu and vegetable noodle soup with spicy peanut vegetarian broth.. which is amazing and is so big I almost never finish it! Love how the tofu sops up broth flavour and how the veg all still have a little bite to them. Important to know: they are best known for their spicy peanut broth and you can ask for it with any of the soups offered, and even ask for a vegetarian broth (which you can also make spicy peanut it you want) which is a little lighter and less oily than their meat broth. There are always a ton of noodles, a ton of veggies, and a ton of flavour! It’s really addictive stuff. Boyfriend always gets the ground pork noodle soup with spicy peanut meat broth, and often asks for no noodles cuz he’d rather just a ton of tasty meat in a tasty broth. lol You’ll find they’re accommodating when it comes to custom requests. Also good to know that they do have chili sauce and chili oil but it’s not on the table and you have to ask for it. The only real downside is I’ve had the hot and sour soup often, and it’s really inconsistent. Sometimes it’s watery, sometimes it’s thick, sometimes it’s perfectly seasoned, sometimes it’s bland. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to figure out which of their chefs makes the one I like best and only order it when they’re cooking! Lol But for now, I’ll keep getting my regular.
Huge fan of this place, my go-to is the spicy peanut noodle soup and I order a side of the deep fried pork chop to go with it. I am an Asian soup fanatic, and this is one of my favorite meals to have on a chilly day. Every time we get freezing rain in Winnipeg, the only place I want to be is the Spicy Noodle House! Thanks, guys, for the consistently delicious peanut soup 🙂
I work in Osbourne village so I thought I’d give this place a try. The service was terrible, the server didn’t acknowledge me for at least ten minutes. When I got the food it was your standard Chinese food, there was nothing memorable about it. I’ve given this place a few chances and it has consistently let me down.
Ordered take out after a long day at work as it’s on my walk home. I had the chicken fried rice & the deluxe spicy Shanghai noodles. The quality of the food is so-so, and the portions were tiny. I usually do not care about smaller portions as long as the food is good. Unfortunately, that’s not the case here.
