I checked out Steve’s with the intent of trying them out. I looked at the prices and they are on the high side for a strip-mall Bistro. I asked the front desk staff about what was good and whether they had daily special and received a curt and rude response. So I left. I cannot comment on the food because the service, price and attitude was repulsive before I even had the chance to try it.Too bad since it is very close to where I live.Maybe I will try it again in the future but for now there are many attractive alternatives in the area and no compelling reason to put up with the attitude and prices of Steve’s.Visited November 2016
Enjoyed the lunch at Steve’s. I appreciate a good Greek salad with fresh veggies. Good amount of cheese as well. Needs some work on the atmosphere and ambience. Service was good.
Went here for lunch over the weekend with my mother. Apart from one other couple, the restaurant was empty. My mother ordered the battered fish with fries and I ordered the baked brie. When the meals arrived and my mother proceeded to cut into the fish, liquid and raw batter oozed out. We brought this to the server’s attention. She was apologetic and offered to get us a new order. After about 15 minutes, the cook (who I presume to also be the owner), came out and brought the plate with the the same soggy fish-like blob to my mother. He told us that he had popped it into the oven for a few minutes. We were so appalled at the cheapness and audacity of this man. The fish looked almost the same, only now it had a delightfully rubbery texture. The brie was okay. Nothing to write home about. I will definitely not be eating here again. A complete waste of money.
Great food, nice ambience and super staff. We had a great dinner tonight — the Dakos salad with garlic shrimp added on was terrific. The Greek Salad with added garlic shrimp also looked amazing. We ended the meal with a shared carrot cake which not surprisingly was really tasty. First time there for dinner and we will be back!
I came in for lunch with a family member about a week ago. I had never been to Steve’s and she wanted me to try it out. We both got the soup of the day which was a vegetable beef barley. It was delicious with a bit of a spicy kick, but it was slightly hard to eat as it was served in a bowl that was halfway full in the height and shape of a flowerpot. It was too deep to eat the soup from. We decided to share the chicken panini with Greek salad and French fries, and it was very good. The restaurant has a nice, clean atmosphere and friendly staff.
The lamb popsicles (rare-medium rare) were just great. They rival those of VJ’s in Vancouver, but with Greek flare. Very Good ambience and talking with Steve, the owner, at the end of the evening finished the evening nicely.
Don’t order the Gyro, not up to standard via taste or value. The special of the day was a steak sandwich, and it was done as requested. Great value. I suggest that you order from the Tapas menu. All the Tapas items were prepared properly and had great taste and value. Outstanding service, nice decor.
