It was my first time at Sushi Maru and it was great! The service was excellent and it was a very relaxed and comfortable dining experience. We had the spicy tuna, Philadelphia and Princess rolls as well as veggie tempura. The price is much lower than our regular faves. I can’t wait to go back and try more sushi!
I’ve been here a handful of times and I would say it’s my go-to sushi place in the area. It’s quick, average prices I would say and the sushi is good. My favorite rolls are dynamite and BC. They also have a fried banana dessert that is delicious and green tea flavoured ice cream that I love.
Tokyo sushi was closed so decided to try a new place. Will not be ordering from here again. The sushi tasted like it had been made long before hand and tasted no better than the sushi you can buy at a grocery store. The price is also high for the quality. Not impressed. Would not recommend.
Solid. I have had eat in and take out about 20 times in total.The food is good. The people are nice. The management is right there most of the time and have made me a special dish free of charge just because. I am not even that friendly with them and they do this. This family run restaurant will be a place I will continue to frequent. Never got sick from their food which is a very real risk in the sushi business.

Unimpressed with customer service. Food was ok but I’m very disappointed in the customer service I received after driving 30 min home and discovering my order was incorrect. Considering my husband paid extra for an incorrect order it’s not worth my time to drive back there for essentially a $4 credit – we paid an extra $5, got the wrong order and no wasabi and was offered an $8.95 credit. I’ll take my business elsewhere next time we drive 30 min both ways for sushi as we live out of town.
Great sushi and good management. Sushi Maru is one of the top Sushi restaurants in Winnipeg.About a year ago I had a bad day and posted a negative comment about Sushi Maru, and for that I apologize. The comment was unjust and I was just having a very bad day. I had totally forgot about the comment and continued to eat at Sushi Maru over the years. The owner is very kind, and is even kind enough to make me a special roll of my choice. I have ordered from this location hundreds of times because it is so delicious, they have some of the best Sushi Rolls in the entire city.As someone who has taste tested almost every Sushi place in Winnipeg, and many other places in North America, I recommend Sushi Maru, and specifically the Teriyaki Alaska Roll, Spicy Crunch Roll, and the Angry Shrimp Roll. You will not be disappointed! The Agedashi Tofu is amazing too, with some Teriyaki sauce.
