This is my #1 fav place for pho in the city. I’d be here everyday but is so far. I’ve been here with my fam since I was a little kid. Will always be a fan!
I work close by so once in a while I order from here. The Shrimps with lemongrass in spicy coconut sauce was tasty and a little spicy but it really should be called Shrimps and onions in spicy coconut sauce. There were SO many onions it was ridiculous! I love onions but that was a bit of a overkill. However, I would order it again, I would only ask for half the onions in the dish. The shrimps were cooked perfectly though and there were lots! The curried chicken was…strange. It tasted okay but it was strange, I don’t know how to describe the dish but the sauce was slightly greasy and bland. It smelt like curry, it just didn’t really taste like much. The stuffed chicken wings are great as is the wonton soup, the wonton soup was slightly garlicky which I liked but only had 4 wontons which wasn’t very much. The hot and sour soup-no, just no. I’ve never ate in but when I get to go my order is always ready in 10-15 minutes and the ladies are very friendly. Overall I will continue to go back and try different things on the menu as its close by. Not gonna lie, I’ll be making more trips to Mamas though.
$50 for 3 Chicken thighs, 8 Shrimp, a handful of veggies and a bowl of dried out rice!!!. What happened to this place?! We use to eat here at least once a week, it was delicious and reasonably priced. It’s been awhile since we’ve been to Thanh Vi, we had a craving for it today, so we went for lunch. Boy were we disappointed! We ordered a Deluxe Wonton soup, came with barely any wontons and the vegetables were hard like rocks. Ordered 2 A’s off the menu, BBQed Chicken skewers with veggies, rice and noodles, while the chicken skewers, were not bad, a little on the salty side, the veggies were raw and barely any there, not like before covered in a nice sauce. the rice was dry and didn’t have any taste at all, we also ordered BBQ shrimp, we got 8 shrimp some of which were raw and they were very salty to the point you could barely eat them, they were just nasty!!! I would have returned them but no one came, to ask us even once, how our food was! So basically we payed $50 for 3 cut up BBQed chicken thighs, 8 shrimp, a handful off vegetables, some broth and a big bowl of dried out rice! Never going here again!
