I couldn’t wait to try the SND and I was not disappointed! So far, my favourite bakery in the city has been La Belle Baguette and while they were not ousted from first place, the SND absolutely is my solid second based on availability and variety. We purchased a bunch of items ranging from a couple cookies to merangues, macarons, salted caramel, and a loaf of bread. Everything was absolutely divine.Merangues are often poorly executed and either undershoot giving the center a chewy spot or overshoot and they are dust. These were perfect and FULL of flavour. Green apple merangues to make your mouth water!Macarons are also a tough one to get right, mostly in terms of technique. Unfortunately I thought they missed the mark a little on texture and flavour both. They tasted lovely, don’t get me wrong, but I couldn’t discern which flavours I was getting from the treat and for the life of me I can’t remember what they were marketed under to begin with.Otherwise, the bread is some of the best I’ve ever had and the prices were spot on. I will absolutely be back to try a cinnamon bun to see how they compare to LBB! I doubt LBB can be bested but I’m going to have fun finding out! This place is absolutely worth the trip!

Great pastries. The store next door might have the best croissants on winnipeg. They are just the right size for a snack. If you like cinnamon buns then you must try theirs. Icing or no icing they still are moist and delicious. The one thing that is not so good are their cookies. When you have great pastries, you need everything to be good.Tom Collichio
