I had an opportunity to try The Tallest Poppy located on Sherbrook street. I walked in and found it quaint with its neighbourhood feel and mismatched chairs, that where it took a turn. I felt awkward sitting around one of the local Gang members. The food I had was prepared well with some exceptions, wild berry sauce shouldnt include inedible berries, and the waffles should have had a crispness to them, not a floppy tasteless feel. I was disappointed because I thought I found a new spot to have a decent meal. I can only stop in again and hope that the experience changes.

Love this place! Everything is amazing. I knew they would make a killer poutine before I even tried it. Coffee is always good. Chicken fried steak for breakfast is deadly but you don’t have to eat a greasy meal here.

This is a cute little spot that is different and fun, even the menu is quite unique. I found service to be just OK but the food is great. I’ve had the spicy tuna melt and the grilled cheese with apple and both were very tasty. Didn’t care much for the potato chips on the side, would prefer a cup of soup or side salad options…which are there but just extra.

The Tallest Poppy is a modern upbeat cafe that is located across from Stella’s on Sherbrook. The setting is very artsy – the ceiling tiles are colourful.I am impressed with the selection of hot sauce on the table. See picture below. We ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with a side of poutine. The grilled cheese was very good as it used cheese bread as the toast, and it was filled with apple slices, which added colour to the classic grilled cheese sandwich. The poutine was made out of real beef gravy so that was very tasty! We also ordered the Poppy breakfast, which came with a choice of homemade sausage patties or bacon, eggs, hash brown and toast. I appreciate the use of fresh cheese bread as the toast, which was paired with a side of homemade jam upon request.Although the service was relatively slow, the food was quite delicious. I would definitely come back again!

I ran across this place by accident & heard about it so I decided to try lunch here. The interior is very artistic the tables are all different with different chairs they have paintings on all the walls. I ordered the chicken & matzo ball soup $5.75 & the beef brisket sandwich $11.75. The chicken & matzo ball soup was good but under seasoned but nothing major the beef brisket sandwich was good the brisket was a little dry but the tomato & horseradish aioli was delicious & made this sandwich. I would definitely come back to trythis restaurant again.

Went for a casual lunch with a couple of friends, and enjoyed my experience very much. The location is great, the space was okay, the service was also okay, the menu was one of the funner menus I’ve seen, making it hard to choose and I enjoyed that very much! Most importantly the food was pretty good! Tried my friends poutine and it was a decent size, and the gravy was so creamy! Tried my other friends sandwich and it was an interesting combo of cheese and apples, but actually enjoyable. I went for the chicken and waffles and was happy with the chicken, but not too crazy about the waffles. The chicken was cooked perfectly! The breading was delicious and even had a little kick to it, and the best part was the crisp on the outside. The syrup was a bit runny, but for me it was perfect in sweetness and consistency. I just wish the waffles had more presence in every bite. Just tasted somewhat bland and wasn’t cooked perfectly. Otherwise I was happy with my experience and will be going back to try more items.
