This place is hard to find if you’re not familiar with the Underground place. I’ve been here many times and still got lost :-)). I guess depends which side you enter the building. This place is not at the fast food court. I love their California rolls, fresh and tasty. The service was fast and very friendly. They have a small space for dine in customers or take out as you shop by. Be back.
Came here for lunch with a colleague. This place has the best sushi in Winnipeg Square. Umi has two locations in Winnipeg, one in the south end of the city on Kenaston and another in Winnipeg Square. This is a small shop that caters to people working downtown. They have a large cooler out front that they sell various lunch combos. Table service is also available, but seating is limited.They do not serve exotic sushi at Umi, there is no Uni, Mirigai, Otoro. But what they do serve, they do extremely well. My favorites include the Alaska, New Hampshire, and the calamari. Their lunch specials always include either a canned pop or miso soup. Service is always quick at Umi. You can always count on this place to get you back to work on time despite going out for a sushi lunch.
