Disappointed. Wok house has been our favorite for Chinese food for over 20 years. Unfortunately the menu items we normally order don’t taste the same since change of ownership. Will have to find somewhere new to order from.
New owners, more interested in gouging than serving. My wife and I are longtime customers. It was not the greatest but it was good value for decent food. Tonight my wife anI tried it for the first time since the change of ownership. I almost swallowed my tongue when I heard the total for our regular order. Each item had gone up over two dollars! The food was ok but no bigger and certainly worth a 20-25% increase! T he food itself was not great, either. The beef chow mein had far too heavy a taste of broth, and the rice was so dry it was crunchy. The mushroom egg foo yung was overfilled which also made a big mess in my car! We will be going elsewhere in the future….

Yowza, I think there have been changes. My family has eaten here about 5 times. The honey garlic breaded veal keeps us coming back. Not anymore. Just ordered last night and just about everything was terrible. do NOT order the kung pao shirmp. I didn’t realize the shrimp was breaded, and it comes in this disgusting black sauce that doesn’t really have any taste. The breaded veal they changed, it used to be nice big square pieces. They’ve changed to breaded and frozen product because it is mostly breading and odd shapes like other chinese food where you get bites of all breading. Do NOT order the mooshi pork. This again was something I ordered in the past and got proper pancakes. They’ve changed this and the pancakes are almost as large as tortilla wraps, and the thickness is just slightly thinner than a wrap. NOT a traditional mooshi pancake. Makes me so mad because I was looking forward to it and they must have had a management change or someone trying to cut food costs by changing a few menu items for the WORSE. We won’t be going back.
Horrible experience!! I usually order from mcgregor location and it’s amazing but the portage location was awful! We order fried rice and pan fried shrimp and it taste burnt and to boot they forgot the sweet and sour sauce for the chicken balls. When we called to get a refund we spent over 20 mins arguing with who knows who apparently the owner for a refund. Never again!!
Customer no more. I’ve been going to Wok House regularly since my childhood. The meals were usually very good with occasional bland meals. Several times recently we’ve found the egg rolls overcooked to the point of almost burnt. Yesterday, we called as soon as the restaurant was opened to order for an hour later. Were told it would be no problem. When we went to pick up our order, the restaurant and lounge were not busy but we still had to wait an extra 38 minutes for our food. No apologies were made by the staff. The egg rolls were overcooked again, the honey garlic chicken balls were beyond dry and had a slight burnt taste. The beef chow mein was bland and the meat was red and chewy. Waste of money and BIG disappointment! You’ve lost our business.
Careful of the combo plates. I came here once, decent size for the pork dish. the ‘large’ noodles was small. the ‘combo plates for 1’ was 60% of bland vegetables. get the regular plates. i had to throw away the vegetables as they tasted so bland.
