Worst sushi ever. My sashimi was frozen in the middle. The octopus was dry and tasted like it was old. I ordered different ten piece selections and nothing came with roe but rather some disgusting fried egg creation. I should have got my money back seeing as we spent over $70
Tiny restaurant but fantastic food. Visited Sakura Sushi for the first time today during lunch hour. Service was a little slow but the food was fantastic. Ordered the sushi pizza (crab and cheese), shrimp tempura, shrimp nigiri and salmon avocado cucumber roll. Delish! For what we ordered the price was reasonable. Restaurant is very cosy, only a few tables; it was very quiet with the only background noise being the deep fryer. Will definitely be back again!
Young couple who loves sushi. We experienced wonderful service here. Our food came in 5-10 minutes within ordering, it tasted as fresh as it comes, and the price didn’t scare us away (which happens in most sushi restaurants, to be honest). Everything was satisfying on our end. Awesome!
Excellent sushi and service! The staff was friendly, the food was excellent and the place was clean. This will be our new go-to place for sushi. There was a bit of a wait for the food, but to be expected as they make it to order. Everything tasted fresh. They are located in a plaza, so lots of parking in front of the restaurant. Go in small groups, as it is pretty cozy with four to the biggest tables.
Poor service. I was really excited about a new sushi place opening in St. John’s, but my first visit was a disappointment. 20 minutes wait for 2 rolls and 1 nigiri takeout, when I was the only person there, then I didn’t get what I asked for (salmon roe) and was told the flying fish roe WAS tiny salmon roe. Bah!
Sushi…. I’ve tried the spicy tuna / salmon and scallop. I would eat sushi serves at Sobeys before I buy from here again. Please fix your sushi rice! It is missing vinegar!
Poor service. Was excited to try this new sushi place in St John’s. Food took over an hour for first dish to arrive and our water glasses were not refilled while waiting. Sushi was decent. No plates to put your individual sushi on, which I found odd as I have been to many sushi places, particularly in Vancouver. Dragon roll was good, The yam in the yam tempura roll was underdone. Twin roll was overpriced for what it was. Overall I felt like the food was reasonable and I was planning to order take-out next time to avoid the slow service. However, went to pay, had a 10% off coupon from their website to use. Was told I could not use coupon because I had not printed it. I had it pulled up on my phone as I don’t own a printer and see no point in printing extra unnecessary paper. Overall very disappointed in the service. I would have been a regular customer but not any more.
