The atmosphere is really cool, with lots of neat and private seating. The service is awesome and the menu is extensive ! My only issue is the price for comparison to what you get, for breakfast it’s at least $5-$10 over priced. Their hash browns are delicious and the sausage has a nice maple flavour. The bagels are good and filling. The bacon was not cooked well and all clumped together. The spicy caesar was nice and reasonably priced at $5.

This restaurant is absolutely horrible. The atmosphere is terrible, it’s too crowded with random crap, and the service is miserable. Our hostess seemed annoyed that we were there, and our waitress seemed like she was high. The waitress was such a space case, and didn’t bring out my friend’s beverage, and didn’t come back to check that everything was okay. During our meal, we saw the hostess standing around eating. While I understand it wasn’t overly busy, she should have had more common sense than to stand in customer’s view, eating. After waiting about 10 minutes, we went to the front to get our bills, and when mentioned that she didn’t bring the beverage, the waitress didn’t apologize or seem to care.I’ve been here three or four times before, always hoping it will get better, but I’m absolutely done with this place now. Horrible place.

The food was yummy, took a while to get to us but it was good. The space is very tight and cozy, but not for those who are claustrophobic. Our server was very nice, pleasant and able to answer our questions about the menu options well.

Amazing variety of breakfast choices, including traditional Newfoundland fare. Although it’s always busy, they still get you seated quickly. Enjoyed my breakfast.

A great find for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. My husband and I were vacationing in St John’s June 2014 from Calgary for several days and happened upon the Bagel Cafe. The name does not really do the restaurant justice, it is so much more than a bagel cafe. We ended up going there five times during our stay! Breakfast was good, but when we were there they also had a great lobster and salad offering for lunch, and a complete lobster meal, including a bottle of wine, for a fixed price for dinner. All the food was delicious and Shaelynn, our server on several occasions was a very friendly, congenial person who really represents the restaurant well. Even if you do not like bagels, make sure you take the time to have at least one meal here, you will not regret it!

Awful overpriced food and very poor service!. Very expensive for bland food. Poor service. Called to ask about pair of gloves I left there and lady that answered the phone said that she had no time for me and that leaving my gloves there was my problem, not hers. Then she hung up on me. Will never be back. If you’re looking for a good newfoundland experience, especially if you’re coming from away or out of town, then don’t go here.

Save your money…many other choices to be had. We had breakfast here this morning…so here’s the thing, if you don’t want to go into your dining experience on the deffensive then don’t eat here!Food was fine, lots to be had, no issue there. However if you decide you want to spend $15 dollars on an omelette, ask ALOT of questions, like is coffee included? NO (which is ridiculous at these prices), also do I get a discount if I skip the home fries, answer: yes $2, only to find a deduction of $1 dollar on bill, also, can I have gluten free bread, answer: sure, but absolutely no mention of the extra $1 charge on our bill.In short, if you think you want to spend the money, ask many questions, they will not volunteer anything. It’s sad really as the pub style environment is quite nice, but sadly the establishment is run in a greedy, mob like way, we will never be back and tourists beware, there are so many other great breakfast places where you will be treated with respect.
