Overrated, slow service.. I was recommended by a local to have dinner at Basho. The environment was interesting. It seems like everyone who goes to this restaurant thinks they’re in downtown LA or NYC. So it was pretty pretentious.I made a reservation for 8:30 pm and arrived about 10 minutes early. Hostess directed us to a bar/couch area and said she’d bring us drink menus while the table was being prepared. At 8:40 pm, nothing was brought to us, and our table was still not ready.The waiter was a bit better, and I think he knew I was not impressed by the slow service, so he tried to make up for it. Food was okay. Not a lot of sushi for $50, but the quality of the food was good. But overall, I didn’t enjoy the experience enough to go back.
