Great ambience, great food. Their chips, salad and Mac & Cheese are awesome (tried veg options only). Its a very famous but a small place so wait time is bit more. This place is fav of some Hollywood stars.
Easily the Best fish and chips on the Avalon that goes without saying, but the rest of the menu is just as incredible! With local seafood featured every way imaginable, moose, homemade desserts featuring the best local ingredients and a burger that will blow your mind – there really is something for everyone. Eat on the deck on a hot day with a cold drink – it is not to be beaten!
Seafood chowder is unreal. One of the best I’ve ever had. The fish and chips were also pretty good. The batter was perfect – light and crispy – but the codfish needed to be seasoned. Very bland. That said, would go back in a heartbeat.
Great food!!. Have been there twice, and both times the food was excellent. The seafood chowder, cod au gratin, fish cakes and popcorn shrimp were all fantastic and of course the fish and chips are some of the best
Hooked. Went here today on a whim due to word of mouth recommendations. Wonderful place. Cozy atmosphere, fabulous service from personable waitresses. My friend and I both ordered the fish and chips and they were delicious. Very impressed to see the waitress taking my order on a hand-held device that sends the info to the kitchen from your table! I have not seen that in even the fanciest restaurants in downtown St. John’s. The menu says the food is made fresh to order so it is well worth the wait. My friend and I split a dessert that was a giant cookie served with ice cream. Depending on what your entre was, I definitely recommend splitting it.
