Wholesome food at good price. What’s not to like? This restaurant gives good service, good food, and at a good price. The menu is limited so you don’t need to be a gourmet of South Asian Food. Frankly, that’s a plus because you know what you’re getting and it comes quickly.

Nice food for the value-conscious curry fan and casual diner. I called ahead and was told we would not need a reservation for a party of four just after 5 PM, and sure enough, we appeared to be the first dinnertime diners to have darkened the doorway when we arrived. By the time we finished, about 45 minutes later, the place was almost full of eater-inners and several takeout customers were at the counter. As expected from my reading of other reviews of this restaurant, the menu is quite limited, and even at that early hour, they were out of samosas, which was disappointing. We could choose either chicken, lamb, or vegetarian rice curry, available in medium or large. Both sizes offered very generous portions and a diverse plate of vegetables, lentils, chickpeas, and tofu/chicken/lamb. Everything on the plate was delicious and the tofu and chicken were good (we tried one of each), although the large vegetarian plate was a little light on tofu. We also ordered naan, which was tasty, and a super-sweet mango beverage, which was simply served in its tetra-pak. The exterior signage made it easy to locate the restaurant, and the one dining room inside was basic in its dcor. The service style was what I would call relaxed (great for the non-fussy diner), although the quiet server was kind. When the tray of the restaurant’s highchair tipped over (it was not working properly) and my daughter’s little plate of food fell on the floor, he brought her more food, which I appreciated. Considering the quantity and quality of the food, the bill was very light on the wallet. There is something to be said for a restaurant that only offers what its cooks do really well, and International Flavours, though perhaps a little misleadingly named given its singular focus on curry, delivers good food at a great price.

What a neat little place!. There is only one main item on the menu but the curry offering was still excellent. A family run place with mom and daughter in the kitchen cooking and son waiting and working the till. Eat in with only about seating for a dozen. A very pleasant hot meal and definitely worth visiting. Closed SUnday and Monday. Great meal to have after long walks at Signal Hill or spending a morning at the Geocenter nearby.

Worth it. The service is almost non-existent, but the food is very good, probably better to have as takeout. The price is very affordable for what you get. A large chicken lasts me two meals.

One of the best in St. John’s! The food is always great and, although the menu is small, there are different dals every day. The portions are vey generous and Talat, the owner, never forgets a face. Try it, you won’t be disappointed!

Good food. The owner herself runs this place and hence the service is really good. Also, the food just reminds me of home cooked food….I would really reccommend you give it a try.
