Hands down the worst Indian food I have ever had. The butter chicken was so runny I needed a spoon to eat it, and is the first time I’ve ever wanted to add salt to Indian food for some flavour. The lamb in the korma was disgusting and fatty with bones in it. I’m pretty sure the naan was store bought and stale. I threw 90% of my meal out, it was inedible. I would never eat here again and wouldn’t recommend that anyone else does either. So disappointed.
Far more authentic than the two better-known Indian restaurants in St. John’s, Shalimar offers Kashmiri fare that’s tasty, well-prepared and very inexpensive. This is by far my favorite place to go with friends — it’s as unpretentious as it gets — no flamboyant ersatz-Indian decor, just great food and lots of it!
Not worth anyone’s time or money. Food not fresh and not authentic. Atmosphere and service sub par at best.
