Used to go but not anymore. I just left Celtic Hearth for a late supper with my husband.. We ordered chili with nachos, onion rings and seafood chowder. What we got was a plate of nachos (not what I ordered and physically pointed out to the waitress on the menu); a bowl of a white creamy liquid with 3 pieces of carrot and 2 dime sized pieces of some sort of fish that was obviously microwaved as the top had a thick glutenous mass, the temp was cold in spots and scalding in others causing me to burn the roof of mouth – actually tore off a quarter sized piece of my mouth. I am guessing a quarter sized piece as it is bigger than the dime sized fish piece actually in the soup. The onion rings were fine. When we got the bill I expressed my concerns politely to the waitress who argued with me that there is no bowl of chili with nachos on the menu – it is directly above the nachos.Guess what – we won’t be back and we will tell our friends.
I went here with my fianc a few weeks ago and we both thought it was good. The service was good as the waiter was nice and on top of things. I had the lamb and Guinness pie topped with puff pastry and I really liked it. The lamb wasn’t gamey tasting and it was a good consistency. My fianc had chicken and ribs and liked both. They have a lot of different beers on tap which is a nice touch. I would definitely go back here.
Thank God for 24 hour restaurants! Not sure what the burger tasted like – it was 3 am and I’d been on George Street.
Celtic Hearth. The Food was decent, we enjoyed our meals and cold draft.
Seafood. Whenever I stop in St. John’s I pay a visit to the Celtic Hearth. I love their Fish and Chips and I always get the Cod Tongue app.
This place is amazing! I’ve never been disappointed and the food is out of this world!! Very friendly service keeps me coming back:)
Very poor service, the staff are terribly unorgonized and there seafood chowder is grose, some seafood who’s been use and i can’t stant that.
