We had the fish and chips (a very good choice) and our server suggested we have the files Newfoundland style (also a good choice). Reminds me of the pubs in London and Dublin. Matt was friendly and engaging as a server. An excellent experience on our first night in St. John’s.
A short stumble from George Street this is the place to have a great meal after a night out on the town. Open 24 hours a day the Celtic Hearth can get quite busy after the bars close but generally you can often get a seat at normal hours as it’s quite a large restaurant. A local favourite is fried bologna (if you care to indulge) or I would highly recommend the ‘sexy nachos’ that are topped with chicken and BBQ sauce and are easily the best nachos I’ve ever had.
I have been here three times while on our 10 day vacation around the island and we keep coming back here. Fantastic staff, great beer, awesome atmosphere and food. It’s a 24 hour place that serves food. It will be my go to place after a long flight back here.
