Another historic building with a lot of charm and a cozy interior. I started with a small order of the coconut red curry mussels (actually a rather large portion), which were excellent. Seafood chowder was rather bland and had too much potato, but that might just be the way they make it in these parts. Finished with the cookies and cream cheesecake, which was phenomenal. Service was good.
Awesome brews … great food and amazing service. Always crowded and has a great buzz going on inside. You can ask your server for the best dishes on the menu. I do hear the mussels are your best bet. The salmon was fresh and well prepared.
A wonderful dining experience, the food was very good and our server attentive and helpful with the menu and the nightlife in the area. A flight of beer gave a good sample of what they brew onsite, all good in their own way. Would definitely suggest stopping by for a bite.
The beer is what sold us on Yellowbelly. My fiance and I both tried the 4 samplers. The Cream Ale was delicious and I got another pint of it. The only beer we didn’t try was the Wheat. I had the veggie nachoes that were meh. My fiance didn’t think they were anything too special either. My Fiance had one of the wood fire pizzas. He really enjoyed it. I had a bite too and definitely agree. We sat outside and people watched which is always fun. The waitress was helpful and knowledgable about the beers she was serving.
This is great pub downtown. With their own brews and a good selection of food on the menu. The staff are attentive and the Underbelly, which is the basement room, has a lot of character and history.
Neat ambiance ! The beer tasting was great especially for the price ! $8.75 for 5 samples, I was not overly interested in having a glass of any of them but the samples were neat. The seasonal sample was a cider that was far too sweet and hard to drink. The menu is large with lots of options. We shared two smalls: small nachos with shredded meat (really good each bite had tons of toppings!) and small beer mussels. The mussels were delicious and cooked perfectly the beer sauce however had little flavour and tasted more like cloudy water. They give you 1.5 pounds so it’s well worth the money !
I may be hard to please when it comes to customer service and yes I do have high expectations but waiting for our non existent server was BRUTAL. We were seated first at a teeny table by the stairs where a heavy flow of traffic would have been so we moved ourselves before the server came back and prior to asking her if it was okay that we moved, she proceeded to tell us with much attitude the the section was reserved. We kindly asked where we could moved and did so. After what seemed like 10 minutes waiting for a menu, we asked if we could sample a beer because we had never been before (we are from out of province) she said yes and went on her merry way. After another 5 minutes comes back with the samples and disappears…15minutes go by and she just never returns. She was however standing at the bar merrily chit chatting with everyone in site except for us. We got up and left and I don’t think she even noticed!!!! We are beer and pub enthusiasts but I will never go back there again!!!!!!
