Top tier ribs – the all you can eat is a great deal ($1 more than a rib platter). Great appitizers too. My only major issue is the long waits for a table. Service is good once you get a table though. I recomend going at 2-3pm to avoid the rush. The prices are a little higher than I’d like, and that’s one of the reasons I suggest the all you can eat ribs. Note: that rib deal isn’t available all the time, it’s worth calling ahead.

Not enjoyable. It’s been a while since I’ve been there but I’m in no rush to return. The service was very rushy, like the server did not have time to serve us. Our appetizer was forgotten (wings) and when the wings were finally brought to the table (after we had already been served our main course), they were ice cold. The meal was mediocre. Nothing to get excited about. I was not impressed with the service.
The ribs are probably the best in the city and there are some decent lunch menu items. They’re usually busy so they want you in and out quickly. The steak isn’t great so I’d avoid that.
Excellent service = great experience. Montana’s is your typical franchise roadhouse dcor, menu, exterior all pretty much the same wherever the franchise is located. I had a lunch time meal with a friend there about a month ago and it was the best service I’ve received anywhere in St. John’s. The friend was visiting from out of town and we had only a few hours, so decided to go and have lunch. As you would expect, it was busy when we got there and the hostess was going to put us at a table in the middle of the floor. There was one booth opened and I asked if we could sit there instead. She agreed right away and did a quick clean-up and set-up the table for us. Meaghan, who was our waitress came along and introduced herself, gave us lots of time to make our choices and then provided just the right amount of service throughout what turned out to be a two-hour meal. Once the restaurant emptied out of the lunchtime crowd, it was much quieter and very relaxing, so we stayed and visited. We shared a chicken quesadilla as an appetizer and got guacamole to go with it. It was delicious and was just right as we waited for the entrees. My friend had a huge combo salad, so much that she couldn’t finish it. I had the side ribs & chicken combo and they were done to perfection better than I had hoped for. We finished off with a shared apple crumble dessert and again, it was very good although the apples could have been cooked a bit longer. What made the meal so great (besides good taste) was the excellent service provided by Meaghan, who told us she is a student at Memorial University. Her friendly attitude, great smile and thoughtful attention made a plan for a quick bite into an enjoyable dining experience. Total bill was about $60. It was worth it.
