Decent place for dim sum. I came here for dim sum on a Sunday at about 12 o’clock Just as business was picking up.Firstly the ambience of the place was pretty well presented. The facilities were quite clean and the decor was quite classy. I’m a visitor to Halifax so I can’t compare to other dim sum restaurants in the Halifax area however from those who are foodies of dim sum they believe that this place is the place to go for it. I must attest that the dim sum quality was mediocre. Shrimp dumplings were excellent since most the time at other restaurants there’s a bamboo shoots smell and taste but with these the dumplings there was a tremendous amount of shrimp and no smell. The pork dumplings on the other hand were atrocious lots of meat no taste would not recommend it. Most dim sum restaurants have a really nice Taro dumpling or cake with very fluffy coverings; however with this restaurant the taro dumpling was encrusted with a very hard covering – also not recommended!On a more positive note what I do recommend is the turnip cake Fried in xo sauce. Rice rolls offered by the restaurant were quite good – I highly recommend the beef rice roll but not the shrimp rice roll.I just like to share one more disappointment with this place. We were there from 12 o’clock to 2 o’clock and At about 1 o’clock we added to our order and they mentioned that several of the items that we placed an order on they did not have, which is rather disappointing.Overall I thought the prices were on the high side for dim sum.

Excellent Dim Sum. This place has been packed every time on Saturday for the Dim Sum brunch (been 4 times in 6 months), and there is a good reason why, the Dim Sum is fantastic. Everything is very fresh and juicy, with excellent flavour. I found the food that would be my last meal if I was on death row, and that is Canton Garden’s Fried Dumpling (picture related), and that vinegar sauce they serve with it goes so perfectly with it.Go for the Saturday Dim Sum, it is really worth it, go with more people so you can have a taste of all the dim sum, although three people works out well, because many of the dishes you order have 3-4 pieces in them.
Best Dim Sum in Halifax. The owners used to own China Classic on Quinpool Rd. Canton garden made a great move towards the clayton park area. Mmmm egg tarts and barbeque pork buns.
Hot and Sour. Great Chinese restaurant! The have The Best hot and sour soup and good dim sum! but hot and sour soup is just something!
Yum for dim sum. A great spot in an odd location to tuck into some pretty good dim sum. All the dishes were well prepared and the service was great even on the crazy busy weekend rush. The turnip cake stir fried in XO sauce is simply fantastic. I am always happy and never dissappointed. Yum for Dim Sum!
