What a great little hidden cafe! I was looking to check out a new coffee spot in downtown Dartmouth and found this place online. The staff were super friendly, respectful and helpful. The woman making my cappuccino sounded like she was still new to making them (the cafe is a training spot for women who reach out to the Elizabeth Fry Society), so she actually came and asked me about how I liked my foam! I also had a chocolate dipped biscuit (looks like an oatcake, but is more of a tea biscuit) that was also pretty good and I enjoyed the giant mug of cappuccino. There were also baked goods, wraps, salads, sandwiches, breakfast and catering available. The space is warm and inviting with seating in the front main area, some more small tables near the back, a room with a dining room table for bigger groups & a balcony. They also have drawers full of kids’ books to help keep kids entertained.I would highly recommend this cafe to people checking out downtown Dartmouth. The prices are very affordable, the food & drink tasty, the ambiance welcoming and the wifi free!

Nice cafe, reasonable prices. My first trip to Our Thyme Cafe was a solid experience for the most part. Like many other reviewers note, you would not think much of this place from the outside but it is really warm and welcoming when you walk through the front door. Like many cafes in downtown Dartmouth, there is not much seating so I’m sure it can be difficult to get a seat in peak times but I had no trouble at all mid morning. It is clear that regulars are well known to staff and treated well – both takeout and dine in patrons. I ordered a tea and a grilled veggie panini for around $7. I found this to be very reasonable, especially given how stuffed with veggies my sandwich was. While I wasn’t a fan of the warmed cucumber in the sandwich, it was really tasty. I would order it again without the cucumber. Overall, this place contributes to a great cause, offers basic but well done food for reasonable prices, and couldn’t be more inviting once you open the door. I would definitely return for breakfast or lunch.
