The food was pretty good. We were looking for some good pho for lunch. While there wasn’t many options the food was very good. They could have provided a little more bean sprouts and lime for the price. The other tables looked to have great food as well. There were lots of people so that is an indication. I would’ve rated it higher if it had more pho options.
YUM. Love this place, and the people. Have been going for years, and I almost always get the same dish. They remember my allergy, and I don’t have to ask for them to leave out the nuts anymore. The place is always crowded around lunch and while the place may not be the prettiest, the food makes up for it. I’ve had one dish of pho that was not quite as good as the others in all the years I’ve been going. If you’re a first timer, give them another chance! You won’t be let down. Terrific food.
It was very busy when we went. 6:30 on Saturday. Only one server who also bussed tables and took cash. She also answered the phone for take out. We ordered the Pho and rice paper wraps. The service was understandably slow. The rice paper wraps were fresh but not very tasty. Too thick. The pho was delivered and only the special pho came with bean sprouts and peppermint. The peppermint was wilted and near rotting. Inexcusable. The pho was good. Better than average. The other Pho’s were okay but we couldn’t understand why no fresh veggies. Couple this with a lack of staff means no return business. Price was fair but we wouldn’t mind paying more for better service and fresh veggies. There is no excuse for near rotten veggies on the table.
Excellent Value. Our family has eaten here for about 2 years now. The restaurant is small and nothing fancy.The owners/staff are friendly and the food is great value for the money. Like many small restaurants this is a family run affair and I suspect they work 16-18 hours days, they have a newborn and still deliver efficient service. You can get standard Canadian/Chinese fare (chicken balls, fried rice, ginger fried beef, etc etc)These are all good (the ginger fried beef is a favorite) but if you really want what makes this place standout, order the soups. These are a meal unto themselves. I’m a big eater and one full size Pho or noodle soup is a meal. Lots of flavor and fresh ingredients.This place is and will continue to be a perennial favorite for our family.
We ordered 2 combos. All items in the combos were flavourless. The chicken balls were dry and not sweet at all. The sauces for the ribs and ginger beef were bland. I won’t be ordering from there again.
I thought the take out was a little bit better than if you stay to eat. Decor is below other vietnamese I’ve been to.
Excellent Vietnamese Food!. Prices are totally reasonable for the volume of food that you get. we ordered three phos and three chicken skewers and it came to about $12/person. The chicken skewers are really tasty and are a recommended appetizer! as some of the other reviewers have mentioned, the restauarant isn’t in the best part of town but it should be fine to visit during the day.
