  This place is gorgeous inside, it’s just too bad that their food and service don’t match. Very expensive meal and the food was nothing special, and rather small portions for the price tag. I had the beef tartare which was good, followed by the fettucine which was kind of bland. The wine was good, and the chocolate mousse desert was good, but the service was absolutely TERRIBLE!. If it wasn’t the snotty attitude of the server on the roof, who couldn’t be bothered to tell us what was on draft that day (4 beers) and annoyed if she actually had to do work, it was the snotty server downstairs who would respond arrogantly about a common menu question, or who would roll her eyes when she had to say what was on the a la carte. Seriously? I think they spent all their money decorating the place, and forgot about the most fundamentally important parts: like good food and good service.

  I was visiting Halifax, and my cousin and his wife, who live in the neighbourhood of this establishment, took me to dinner there. I could not find fault with any part of the experience. My salmon gravlax appetiser (a dish previously unknown to me) was very tasty. The main course of scallops and vegetables was delicious; it is very hard to find scallops like that in the prairie city I call home. The sticky toffee pudding dessert was quite good. The presentation of everything was first-rate, and our server was prompt, courteous, and helpful. I would definitely go back on a future trip to the fair city of Halifax.

  Great service. Great food. Foie gras to die for. Toulouse sausage very good. Excellent fries and Jojos. Overall, recommend.
