Just had my wedding there last night. Amazing experience! Fantastic food, great service. A meal I’ll never forget for a day I’ll always remember. Now I know where our anniversary dinners will be!
The Calamari is fantastic. Haddock is great but the pork tenderloin is too sweet for my liking. Pumpkin Cheesecake is a recommended finisher! The chairs in this restaurant are very uncomfortable after 20 minutes if you are taller than 5’7. Parking is scarce but the service is friendly and prompt.
Good quality, everything has cream though, despite asking for no cream
Stunning. I believe this place changed hands a number of years ago but they have never missed a beat. The service here has always been impeccable and there is a certain luster to the ambience of this place. The menu? The crown jewel. Braised rabbit risotto, truffle oil scented white bean soup served in espresso cups, polenta con fungi, a veal scaloppine with lobster plated with a brandy rose sauce… the list goes on. The flavours? Simply mind-blowing.There is no need to go on. Do yourself a favour and go. It’s worth every penny.
Best?. Likely the best in HFX, all good, superior service, superior food.My only complaint is I find the room not having a lot of good tables!
Amazing!! Service and food is top notch!!
Excellent Food Great Value. I went to this restaurant last night for the first time with my girlfriend and 3 other couples. We had the option of picking our food from a set menu of 5 appetizers, 5 main courses and 3 deserts for $40, with drinks not included. We also had the option of choosing from the main menu.I chose the mussels for an appetizer and also picked the calamari from the main menu. I ordered the apricot pork prime rib as my main and the flour-less hazelnut torte for desert.Everthing was excellent. The calamari was absolutely excellent. Usually calamari is heavily spiced to the point that you can’t actually taste the calamari but this calamari was lightly spiced so that you could add pepper to your taste. The apricot pork prime rib was excellent, nicely cooked, moist and flavourful. The hazelnut torte was stick to your ribs thick and very good.We were all nearly full by desert; Most of us didn’t completely finish our desert because we were so full.I thought this restaurant was one of the best I have eaten at in Halifax. I thought we also received excellent value for money since we all left so full and for a great price. With dinner, tax and tip we spent $170. Both my girlfriend and I each had a glass of wine with our dinner.
