It’s a difficult choice between getting the cold and the hot lobster roll. One is a really fresh taste of lobster with a mix of mayo, celery and herbs and the other is lobster heated in a pan of butter, lemon and garlic. Both very great tastes. The Local (cold) had a nice chewy texture of fresh lobster untouched by heat which makes the flavour and bite a bit fuller. The Some Fancy (heated) is a soft, warm, buttery mouthful of lobster with a comfortable heat on your palate as it goes down.Thankfully Dave’s offers a Half and Half option that allows you to get the best of both worlds. On top of the soft bun that’s also heated with another layer of butter, this is what I expected Halifax to taste like. It’s a great lobster roll, just be prepared to pay a price of $16 for the roll.

Fresh and simple! Price point was a little high for what you get, it’s a relatively small sandwich. Even though they do load it up well, not quite 16$ worth. Still delicious though if you’re willing to spend the money.
