Best sushi in Halifax , always consistent .. Never had a bad experience and always leave there happy and satisfied, service is so great and always with a smile
The sushi, sashimi and service were excellent. After being away from Asia for 6 years living in Toronto I had forgotten what fresh fish tasted like. Awesome!
Not good. Waited forever for the food and it was not worth the wait. ended up not eating half of it- mediocre at best- very disappointing and not worth the money.
Some of the best!. I’ve been frequenting this location for more than 10 years now and it has been consistantly exceptional. It’s actually set the bar for comparison in many ways but that may just be elements of nostalgia pushing their way in.The ginger dressing for their house salad is first and foremost worth noting. Unbelieveable. I could drink the stuff. The kara-age is beautifully marinated and a long time favorite. They just do california rolls right and are often generous with the tobiko (flying fish roe). The sushi is fresh with clean lines and well developed flavour. The decor isn’t anything spectacular but I’ve often found some of the best food I’ve had comes from the places that aren’t designed by decorators to the n-th degree. The staff are friendly and knowledgable. If you’re going on a Thursday through Saturday it is usually wise to make a reservation. They can be quite busy. All in all I love this place. The food is prepared with care and pride and the prices are reasonable (for Halifax). I strongly encourage folks to try it!
Agedashi – luv you. Dharma has always been my favoriite sushi spot in the city. The Agedashi tofu is simply the best anywhere. The tempura is fresh and crunchy and the maki and nigiri is always fresh and well made. I have a pet peave with salmon sashimi in other places being cut to large, but Dharma’s is perfect. The karma at Dharma is relaxing and calm, and the service is also great.
Great experience. Wonderful food, friendly staff, and clean. One one thing I would like to see… loose leaf green tea. Their tea pots have a wonderful large infuser basket but my green tea came in a tea bag. It was good tea, just not the same as loose leaf.I love sitting on their patio and enjoy watching the street traffic of Argyle Street.
Monday special good too, includes awesome dumplings.
