Straight up, their patio IS. THE. BEST. Oh, what a beautiful sight to sit right by the ocean and look at all those ferries, ships and seadoos just sail by while youre enjoying a pitcher of Sangria or those delicious entres that they have to offer. My personal favorite is their Cauliflower wings, a perfect substitute to Chicken wings if youre a vegetarian and their tacos as well. It is clearly the most busiest place during summer and it is even hard to get a good seating and you would have to book a reservation a couple of hours atleast in advance.
Went here after hearing so good reviews from other people at work. Went here for my dad’s birthday, the food was really good and the waitress was hilarious and very honest about the items on the menu. If you haven’t been here you really need to try it. Will be back for sure!!!

Prime Rib sandwich with vegetables… Less than mediocre. Service was good. Other people’s food looked great. Don’t even bother with the rib sandwich.
Great location, great service, great patio, and good pub food. Visited with my husband for lunch recently, although we have visited a number of times and we will return. I had the soup of the day: carrot maple curry and it was delicious! My husband had quesadilla and fries, both good. Great drink assortment and awesome patio for summer in Halifax.
A Waterfront restaurant with a view of the water, Gahan House is a nice place to relax and enjoy a handcrafted brew. Seven beers are on tap along with a variety of seasonal selections, there’s a lot to enjoy. Personally, get the flights if you want to try more than one. You can even select your own beers this way. The waitress was even kind as to give me an extra glass for mixing up my order.Like most Waterfront restaurants, there’s a good selection of seafood at this spot as well and you’re paying about $12 and above for a dish. I tried the Lobster Fritters to go with my beer and there were a lot of them – five hearty clumps. There was a lot of dough to these fritters. Very soft and very moist with pieces of lobster present, but not over powering the flavour, but very well paired with the cilantro lime aioli. I mainly stopped in the for the fresh maritime oysters that came our at $3 a shell.Great hangout place for people watching, great beers with friendly servers ready to help. Great spot for tourists.
We found this great Oyster Bar and Taphouse on a cold January afternoon. Gahan is in a spot that might usually be reserved for a tacky tourist trap but they surprised us with one of the best lagers in town and fresh oysters that have completely changed our expectations for fresh oysters. The service was fast and friendly and the manager is an oyster expert that gave us a mini-MBA in oysters. Eat here!
