Excellent fresh Vietnamese. I had chicken with spring rolls on vermicelli. The veggies were fresh and crisp. Good fish sauce. The chicken was reheated and a bit bland. Spring roll was flavourful and not greasy. Overall a good quick lunch!
Awesome place and prices. First and best pho I’ve ever eaten. Very friendly staff and great food! Will definitely be coming here again as a student haha.
I enjoy it every time. I love the fusion tacos with tofu, I’m addicted!! I love the layout of this place too, it’s somewhere I don’t mind going by myself, very casual and easy going. Definitely worth adding to your list of eateries in Halifax.
Great Food. I have tried quite a few variations of these sandwiches in Calgary and Vancouver where they are very popular, but Indochine is by far my favourite. They are second to none in the quality of their ingredients. Everything is so fresh and full of flavour. The vegetables are crisp and the meat is tender and moist. Even the beef! Which i find is more like rubber than food at most places. I wish more more restaurants took as much time and effort to produce such great food like Indochine does. Its great to have a place like this in Halifax.
Fresh and tasty veggie pho. I have had the vegetarian pho at Indochine many times and it’s always fresh and tasty. I like the fact that the tofu is organic and local and there are lot’s of fresh herbs in the soup.
I didn’t like the beef soup (pho). They should have Pho Ga (chicken soup) on the menu. The pho is served in a tiny paper bowl–even if you dine-in–instead of an ample wide bowl as the authentic Vietnamese restaurants do. As a result, you have to eat it in layers (cilantro, then sprouts, then noddles before you can get to the stingy portion of broth instead if being able to combine the flavors.
If you like pho don’t go here. The beef that is supposed to be put rare into the soup is microwaved to a grey tough mass and then dumped ina flavorless broth. My springroll (also microwaved) is soggy and equally flavourless. From all appearances no viatnamese were involved in the creation of this restaurant.
